[cite]Posted By: CHG[/cite]Pleased with this, clear out the costly rubbish, get in a new bunch of hungry players, build it.
What makes you think he was a) costly or b) not hungry?
a) costly, he was a Pardew signing b) loved a bev and the social side of the game, didn't convince Parky to give him a run in the side, may have been down to ability, maybe attitude.
It was a shame he never made it as he promised so much and has a burst of speed. I saw him a few times last season but HE spent it mainly on the bench. At times he just did not look interested. League 2 and the blue square maybe his level. The goals he scored against Daggers indicated he has so much more, they were quality but they never happened again or look liked happening.
Speculation surrrounds the eventual cost of striker Stuart Fleetwood following his move back to Hereford United from Charlton.
A £20,000 up front transfer fee has been mooted, however, official Charlton Athletic sources claim this initial amount could rise to £100,000 depending on appearances, goals scored, and promotion whilst a Hereford United player, plus a potential sell-on fee.
The 24 year-old former Cardiff City starlet came to prominence at Forest Green Rovers after being released by the then Bulls boss Graham Turner in June 2007.
After scoring an amazing 36 goals for Forest Green in one season, Charlton eventually stepped in to sign him, agreeing a £100,000 'developmental fee' for the Welsh U-21 striker.
Fleetwood, voted the Blue Square Premier Player of the Season and Golden Boot winner in 2008, signed a three-year deal with Charlton after a breathtaking season under the guidance and coaching of the former Hereford United legend Jimmy Harvey who managed Forest Green Rovers at that time.
The Gloucestershire born striker originally joined Cardiff City as a 12-year-old and went on to gain Championship experience with the Bluebirds against the likes of Derby County, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Reading.
And, having replaced Rob Earnshaw for his debut in the League Cup as a 17-year-old in August 2003, he went on to make eight league appearances for Cardiff, all but one from the bench.
Fleetwood, who won the first of his five caps as a Wales U-21 international against Latvia in 2004, left Cardiff in 2006 to join Hereford grabbing his first goal for the Bulls against Canvey Island in February 2006.
And by the end of his first season at Edgar Street, he had added a further four goals and emerged from the bench to help Graham Turner's side win their Conference play-off final with Halifax Town and seal a place back in the Football League.
He enjoyed a dream start to the next campaign with the Bulls, scoring on the opening day at Stockport County and then again at home to Chester City a week later.
His impressive August continued when he hit a hat-trick to condemn Championship Coventry City to a shock League Cup reverse at Edgar Street with his fine form earning further international recognition.
However, a viral infection delayed his progress somewhat after that, and he featured three times on loan at Accrington Stanley before leaving Hereford at the end of the campaign.
His undoubted talent was enhanced by Harvey at Forest Green and he went on to top the scoring charts with 27 goals in the Conference, and 36 in total.
Despite a difficult period at Charlton, the Welsh striker scored some important goals whilst on loan at Cheltenham, Brighton and Exeter City.
The Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale had looked favourite to secure Fleetwood's signature on a permanent deal but a two-year deal at Hereford, plus an up front transfer fee appears to have swung things the Bulls' way.
[cite]Posted By: Kap10[/cite]Can't believe that even Pardew would give him a wage of £4k a week.
Now who fancies McLeod?
Maybe not, but on a 3 year deal at a Championship side aiming for promotion to the Prem, a player would expect a decent wage. Had to move to London as well.
Comments
for another newbee.
Hope he does well
now where have I heard that before?
exactly what I was thinking :-(
We shall see.

No reflection on Fleetwood as a person and good luck to him hope he is successful at Hereford.
Now who fancies McLeod?
