Despite our dwindling squad numbers I'm pleased that the dead wood has been let loose and we can now move towards building an exciting (free) team, which i think will do extremely well.
Good for the club. Fell a bit sorry for Fleetwood in the way that he was well out of his depth. Saw the big lights of London come calling when he was banging them in for Forest Green. Wish him all the best.
At 24 guess Fleetwood has plenty of time to get his career back on track, obviously has qualities but clearly suited to certain style of play. League 2 is probably his level for now but do actually wish him well.
Expected, good thing to get it sorted early really.
Seen him a few times and wasn't impressed from the start, especially when we already had strikers with a bit of pace in McLeod and Dickson.
Another poor Pardew signing, a fee, wages and long contract on a player we didn't need. Aiming for the Premier League and a few years later not good enough for our League One side. Same with Dean Sinclair, nothing against the player, but we just didn't need him.
Never really felt he was a worthwhile signing but that wasn't his fault and I don't sense he's been one dragging his heels and happy just to pick up his inflated wage whilst not playing, so I wish the kid luck. From the perspective of the club, though, it's good news players like him are being got off the books. I think just McLeod to go now and we'll be rid of the dead wood. Shame we've lost a few good branches in the process of getting rid of the rotten ones.
another underperformer / underachiever off the books.
??
How can you achieve anything if you're not allowed to perform?
In training?
At Exeter?
Never done it.
Didn't Exeter come in for him at some point. Why not offload him then if he's such a waste of space.probably would have got a hell of a lot more than we have now
I generally have no real view on the bloke.Just dissapointed to hear of another complete f*** up in the recent history of Charlton athletic.
Cardiff City - Released Accrington Stanley - Released Hereford United - Released Forest Green Rovers - 1 good non league season Cheltenham Town - crap loan spell Brighton - crap loan spell Exeter City - crap loan spell Charlton Athletic - not good enough, should never have been here.
If we can dump Mcleod and Sinclair as well I'll be smiling. Scary thought the amount we have spent on Mcleod as I am assuming we wont get a fee for him either.

Did well enough at Exeter that they wanted to buy him. Did OK at Hereford until illness and injury put him out. Lets not forget Bailey was released by Fulham so early career is slightly irrelevant. He certainly seems to be more settled when playing in the West, but I think our fans are a little hard on him. Which is the way are fans like to be I suppose.

This sticks out for me. He was presumably viewed by Pardew to have possible Premier League potential but he's turned out to not even be good enough for, at the time, the league below. Quite a spectacular misjudgement of his ability.

No surprise to see Fleetwood go, never going to be good enough and another Pardew gamble that never paid off.

looks like the decks are finally being cleared.
Hopefully he'll be gone soon too!
McLeod next hopefully!

Didn't cut it with us but wish him luck at Hereford.
Another player and his wages off the books. Not a lot I'd guess but money saved for other players.

What makes you think he was a) costly or b) not hungry?

Hereford only have 12 players themselves.
Imagine what this could be like this time next year, pretty much the entire squad could be out of contract.
or are there any more 'nominations'....
agree
well that depends who we manage to get in as replacements
to be honest i wouldn't have minded if we give him away for free.
