John Lennon could still run a football club better than tangoman.

[cite]Posted By: Addick Addict[/cite]Shame it isn't about us as the Wiki entry refers to another club, admittedly one rather close in name (Charlton Ahletic) to our goodselves.
Damn, I'd gotten my hope up when I misread it on Wikipedia

How long before a Yellow Submarine torpedoes this thread?
I couldn't have done it without my supporting cast.

"In 2010 there was heavy speculation surrounding McCartney that he was to head up a consortium launching a take-over bid for struggling Charlton Athletic. Links between the club and the famous musician go a long way back with Charlton's famous supporters anthem - Valley, Floyd Road - using the tune and a number of lyrics from the Wings song Mull of Kintyre.[216]"

Good work though.
[cite]Posted By: Stefco[/cite]Nice one Pilchard! A gem of a rumour. Absolutely hilarious! :-D
It wasnt me, I said "The McCartney one is mine (I wish)". It is a bizarre thread which I found hillarious but I can't take the credit for it sadly (boo hoo etc).
Been away for two weeks and I come back to this thread. It's without a doubt the most ridiculous buyout rumour we have had so far. What could possiby top this one.

Still here at 2AM, 14 hours later. Has Paul McCartney got a sense of humour and wants to let it be? Will there be an answer?
Oh no - he is Back In the USSR.[/quote]

John Lennon buying us?
"Imagine" that.
"Give (Paul) a chance......."
