    Stopped reading there,
  • out of contract so would only be wages.

A big non-scoring forward so no thanks.
  • he he yeah we have one or more of those already, well the non scoring bit anyhow...
  • be a goiod signing imo

Well if it's good enough for the England World cup squad....
  • He said a couple of weeks ago that he was going to play abroad (think he said he had a Turkish club lined up) - guess that fell through.

Swap towering with lumbering and you are about right.

    I bloody hope not!

I hope we can find someone with a better goalscoring record, but it might come down to us having to take a gamble. Good thing with big strikers is a lot of them seem to step up a level later on in their careers. Iwelumo, Lambert, Holt, Bothroyd and I'm sure there are more examples, they're doing far more than they could offer in their early 20s.

If we do sign someone like Kyle, we must make sure we use them properly. Pass the ball on the floor and get crosses in, rather than stick him up front on his own and hoof the ball up to him.
  • Robbie Blake has just turned down a one year contract with Burnley, probably wants too much money but would be a good option.

  • Is it right Big Chris has gone to Burnley?
  • I like Kyle. Would do a good job at League 1 level. Big target man and play someone off him with pace.

    Yes.
  • 10 goals in 33 games in all comps
    8 yellows

nearly as many cards as goals
  • was at Sunderland from 2000-2006
    91 games 18 goals
  • but they have to play Celtic and rangers a lot so those games do not count
  • He has no movement at all. Saw him for Killie and thought he was shocking.

    He'd be a large Addick.

    ;o)

How about his record at Sunderland very poor

10 goals in 33 games is about par for a striker .....1 in 3 ratio.

Perhaps all 8 of the yellows were for ripping his shirt off each time he scored - like Dizzy Izzy?

Or perhaps he's a fearsome, combative type capable of roughing up defenders?

  • Not a bad target man, have watched a lot of scottish football this season far better strikers up there than kyle to be honest, scottish football is even more on its arse than our leagues, few players I would very keen to see playing for us would be, dorman, sutton (chris' brother) and the irish striker daly at motherwell I think, the guy has just gone to huddersfield is class and would have gone to much a bigger club if the scots league wasn't so broke. Scotland is defo a part of the world we should be targeting, dorman at st mirren I think is a quality midfielder in the kins mould attacking goal scoring creater, 100k tops and he could be ours, billy memehet is another striker who knows how to score and would be basement price.
  • Been told on good authority that Kyle will be made a Charlton player by the end of the week.

Probably offered him Sam Sodje's £9k a week to sign?

Wouldn't be a bad option to have a striker like that if he is.

Do think we could do with another big striker, other than Akpo.
  • On the FM researchers forum, have had a look in the Scottish leagues section, the Kilmarnock researcher thinks Kevin Kyle is probably leaving and seems to rate him as their best player.

Looked him up he's 6 ft 3 or 4, could be Parky's new Iwelumo.
  • Nearly went to a Russian premier team in the last window. Think this would be a good signing.

A big lump up front is not a bad option, we've seen sides against us use their physical size of their players well against our smaller player over the past few seasons.

Though Sodje is quite tall (though not very good in the air)

But we'll see. If he signs I expect everyone to go suicidal as we haven't signed a Drogba, like when we signed Burton who I thought it was a bad signing at the time and look how that turned out.

Just noticed this on wikipedia, was club captain but quit, and is out of contract in the summer (and seems he still is)
  • Pair him up with 5ft 8 Chris Dagnall and we could have a little and large combo up top

Still not convinced as he's has many people slag him off over the years and 10 in 33 is not a fabulous record for a Scottish striker as the standard is pretty dire
  • if he fits our wage structure then probably not a bad signing (at least I've heard of him !)

not quite sure who exactly some people think we will be able to sign or should be going after, given our position !
