  • Reid's free-kick curls just wide
  • Francis will start next week - thats exactly why he isnt playing today!
  • [cite]Posted By: Scoham[/cite]Solly probably going to start next week as it seems Francis isn't even on the bench.

What I said yesterday on the Simon Francis signs thread.

That won't hurt ..... it gives Solly the shirt and a chance to get games under his belt - and when Francis is fit, he has to prove he's better than Solly. Good incentive for both players.

SE7, you think he will start ahead of Solly after having absolutely no game time so far? He may be a better player, but you need to think about how that player integrates into the squad, and I'm not sure you can integrate enough for a league match in one week. I think we will sign another 3 players and therefore host a behind closed doors match for them to gain match fitness.

But he's probably not played all pre-season, unless anyone knows any different.

Perhaps he is on the bench, they've just missed him off.
  • Can some confirm if we are losing 1 nil? as only 1 mention of this.

Yer losing 1-0. Graham the scorer. Tap in from Elliot save
  • Reid's cross is headed over by Waggy on the stretch

Loach makes a good diving save to keep out an effort from Wagstaff
  • Yes. Losing 1-0

Poor old Robbie. OohAaaaagh! will crucify him for that.

Obviously we should have signed David James.

Are you right there in the Hornets nest, Sam....?
  • Jackson goes very close with a dipping curling free-kick.
  • CAFCOfficial Twitter I'm afraid
  • sounds like we are battering them on the chances front!

Definitely had more chances, sounds like Watford only had 2, halftime now
  • HT: 1-0
  • Who's playing better so far? Anyone really catching the eye more then the others? Sounds like were not doing to badly and Elliot was unlucky with the goal. Oohaaaarr whatever can moan all he likes, does my head in when he speaks nonsense especially when talking about Robbie.

I expect Solly to start next week and this could possibily be our starting line up, expect Abbott could play alongside Sodje - meaning Racon would most probably drop out, as that's how it has work out to be this pre-season. 3 more signings not including Marshall, Bauza and hopefully Fortune and I think were all good and set fo that promotion push.
  • 1-0 down at half time but Charlton have had some good spells, especially down the left hand side...

Concerns about the 'ball over the top, with lack of place from CMs...
  • For those who are there.............whose on top ? although we are losing it sounds like we have had more chances - is this right ?????

  • We are well on top. Creating a few chances from the wings and Sodje has been ok up front by himself.

    Watford have offered nothing.

McCormack, Elliot and Doherty have been shaky, and in the case if Alan, completely anonymous.
  • It seems we've played with a 4-5-1 formation, similar to how we started last season - but with 2 pacy wingers out wide in Waggy and Reidy, and perhaps Racon more advanced playing in the hole behind Akpo, turning 4-5-1 into 4-3-3 when we attack. And created plenty of chances.

Perhaps the 2nd half will start with a 4-4-2 and, in place of Akpo and Racon, with Abbott & Costello Bauza as strikers.....?
  • Commentary on CAFC Player says the correct way to pronounce Akpo is Apo.
  • Agree with WSS. McCormack? Is he playing. Majority of our threat from the left. Not much service for Akpo.

Getting a little concerned by our real lack of pace at the back.

Before oooohhharhhh starts on Elliot - it was a very good stop. Jackson and Racon didnt help him, stood and watched Graham tap home.
  • Oggy, we may switch to 4-4-2 at some point, not HT though. All subs are out on the pitch warming up.

Not sure where loads of chances comes from. Loach has made one save of note.
  • Llera for Doc HT.
  • I hate to be hasty here, but based on comments on here and what i saw myself at Park View Road the other week, I think we've been sold a pup with McCormack and don't see what he offers the team.

    Doesn't he run the "Kwik-e-mart"?
  • Llera on for Doherty
