[cite]Posted By: johnnybev1987[/cite]couldn't find it but now i have, what a complete tosspot! seriously if he follows us aswell even worse fair enough he may think this but publicly out us

Im with VG here, he deserves a beating!

I still can't find it. Do you have the link handy?

Jeez don't put a link in - don't give that to55er the satisfaction of getting any more web hits.
  • [cite]Posted By: Mortimerician[/cite]Regardless of who is doing the criticising; the reaction to the comments are overblown. We're a mess. Our manager hasn't had any money to spend: but his wage budget outstrips everyone in the division; and most of the teams in the division above that he lead us out of, in last place, last season. The storm of outrage at his criticism seems completely misplaced.

morts, i hope your not defending him!
  • If there was ever a case of shooting the messanger even if the message may be right this is it.
  • its alright by next week he wont be able to use a keyboard ever again.....

On the wage budget to be fair probably over £1m of it is spent on Yassin, Dickson, McLeod, Sinclair and Fleetwood, and when they've gone on loan we'd have been paying probably at least half their wages. And some people said we were or are still paying part of Christensen's wages.

I doubt amy other club is wasting around £1m on five players they don't want.

The budget for our actual squad probably then isn't higher than say Norwich, Leeds or Southampton.
  • Somebody had cut the piece out and stuck it on my screen this morning. Just when you start to get over Mondays events when this knob end decides to twist the knife a bit more. Just proves the point that this comic of a paper is only good for one thing. And the piece at the end where he challenges Parkys passion, well he obviously didn't see him going nuts when we scored. What a complete and utter tosser this bloke is.
  • [quote][cite]Posted By: ValleyGary[/cite]Im not a 'Parky lover' and probably never will be. However, he is in charge and while's he's there he will get my backing. I wont always agree with his decisions and sometimes i think he makes key error's.

Saying the man lacks passion or intelligence in a national newspaper is just not on, whoever says it.[/quote]

That is harsh. If he had said tactically suspect and excessively negative, he would have been nearer the mark!

Exactly, at least it would show the plum has some sort of footballing knowledge.
  • What's amazing me is the number of you on here that actually read The Sun....what a waste of time that is.
  • its 20p and got tits in it.

And one of 'em is Kelvin McKenzie.
  • He's obviously a member of CL....

Where else would he get such information...?
  • Its the worst paper this countrys media produce.
  • The blokes a complete ****** he only started supporting us because we were in the Prem . If he had any feeling for the club he would'nt be making such cheap comments.

It's a pity he was not following us in the early 70's when we were in the old 3rd Div. (If I remember rightly from 1972 to 1975 (thats 3 seasons) with crowds of 3K. Mind you you could park very close to the ground.) being 25 minutes from extintion or homeless

Some of know how bad some things can be.

At no time did any of us say we were Charlton Pathectic
  • I read for sport pages, page 3 and thats about it but dont take it too seriously
  • The man is a bullshit merchant, he probably hasn't been anywhere near The Valley for years. Must have some sort of vendetta against someone at the club to feel the need to blast off so regularly. We don't need or want him- as far as I am concerned he is not a Charlton supporter anyway so f@ck him. I am proud of this club and what it has achieved and will always be no matter what, Mckenzie and Jiggins and the other tosspotts are meaningless knobcheeses looking to score cheap points and jump on the football bandwagon to appear somehow down with the real folks- it doesn't work.
  • The Sun is not the worst newspaper produced in this country, that is the Daily Mail. The Sun is a pretty poor comic with a bit of soft porn tossed in.
  • Kelvin McKenzie..... Has become the rent a gob of the media world... mildy amusing at times, he proportes to be at the epicentre of common sense, based on the fact that he he was Thatcher's 'bitch'....
Some 'ironic' individual at the bbc used to have him as a guest on every internal bbc event and quite a few programmes when they wanted someone to 'liven things up'..... It caused quite a lot of resentment as quite a few people reacted by saying why are we employing a man who makes a living by slagging off the bbc, with his dubious remarkes, and alleged finger on the pulse of the silent majority...... The only person that McKenzie represents is himself, never let a 'fact' get in the way of a soundbite, especially if it is a fact that you have made up eh Kelvin!.

After saying that the bbc deserved all they got by sucking up to the Mail, (offering it photo exclusives) and then proceeded to slag off every individual at the bbc. Leaks to the Mail became such an issue that Dyke once banned the 'Mail'. Months later it appeared again, and the latest cuts package appeared in there pages before they were even on the bbc internal website!. The recent exposure of the FA bid has bitten the Mail in the arse, as it is seen as an own goal, and screwed the bid. part two this weekend!..... we shall see.

Sorry Sco, I can't claim to have your in-depth knowledge of the pay-packets of every player in the league so we're in the realms of the hypothetical here and that's an area that you'll always be able to conjure up an answer in, so I accept the futility of this, but blaming it all on the board for signing off stupid contracts on mediocre players is simply not the full picture.

You could argue that managers of those other clubs might have been able to get something out of highly paid players that hadn't been in the fold. Parky's been very much a man for his favourites as the Randolph SNAFU at the start of the situation demonstrated. So, to a certain extent a pool of unused expensive resource sits partly at his door. He chose to sign Spring when he knew he had Bailey, Semedo, ZZ, Racon, Wright, Shelvey,

He's been allowed to get numerous loans in. He's been allowed to bring in pricey free transfers: Daily and the Sodjes spring to mind. Not saying that that's not a solid basis for building the team, just that he's been supported at least as well as managers at other clubs in the league and he's started with a stronger squad than many.

  • How can he say parky lacks passion! The hurt in parkys eyes in the interview after the match was real passion..He almost got us back in the first attempt, and in the hardest league one ever! ...

I don't know anything more about our wages than anyone else, it's just based on estimates, what I've read here and there.

I wasn't blaming it all on the board, it's a mixture of the board, Pardew's signings and a few of Parky's (mainly Spring, McKenzie, and last season, the loans like Soares). I was just saying take away the players Parky didn't sign, the wage bill is probably (not saying I know, I don't) not higher than those 3 clubs. Southampton's might have been higher anyway with the money they've spent.

Spring also agree was a strange signing, said at the time Wright could probably do a similar job, and he's gone on to play Championship football and probably more games than Spring this season.

I do agree he's been supported and did start with a stronger squad than most. Just that take away Moutaouakil, Fleetwood and Sinclair, you're cutting what is most likely well over £500k a year in wages.
