If it goes wrong tomorrow night - a polite request

edited May 2010 in General Charlton
No recriminations at the final whistle. We all have our opinions on what is wrong at the moment. But taking a deep breath and debating them like adults is far more agreeable to the full scale slanging matches we have seen this season.

If it goes well then lord it.

Ive heard from those ITK that should we falter tomorrow a hardcore element of Charlton's "firm" will be staging a (internet- based) protest that will make Millwall Birmingham look like a scrap in the tuck shop at St Trinian's.

My source informed me that the share price of Thermos Flasks is set to shoot through the roof and that there is set to be a severe shortage of hot ribena in SE London and North Kent as disgruntled addicks set in for a week of angry forumming with tension not seen since the Cuban missile crisis in 62.

    Scary times.
  • I'm making my dirty bomb as I type.
  • But weren't we told to stop moaning throughout the season and be positive and support the team/club no matter what; That the end of the season was the time to make judgements?
Well, (if we lose) final whistle Monday is the end of the season so fair game for making feelings felt to the team/club and for the slanging matches that WILL occur on here :-)

Well i predicted we would finish 10th so im happy no matter what. That being said having come this far to loose now will be gutting but what are we on about we are not going to loose 2-0 home win like we would have done had we not been reduced to 9 men in the last game at the valley vs Swindon on boxing day.

You now have the anti terror police on the way to you as we speak lol
  • Charlton will win tomorrow.
  • We will do it the only way..the hard way. Has to be extra time and pens....which will of course weaken the heart but it will be worth it.

    Please no!
Though those of us at Wembley in 98 and the Bridge when we knocked out Chelsea had a very good time, I'm not sure I could cope with the pressure

  • if we lose there would be a very boring all out nuclear attack on Parky, Mooney, Racon, Lloyd Sam combined with exasparation as to why Super Chrissy Dickson wasn't even on the subs bench.

Apart from posting player ratings perhaps, I wouldn't be on this site for a couple of weeks - until some of the tantrums have died down!

    Snap.
  • If it goes wrong, I am going to try to keep away for a bit. Will probs not last long, but it may take a few days for it to sink in, especially given the repercussions of staying down.

  • PLEASE NO BOOING TONIGHT
  • If it goes wrong tonight

Stay behind at the end are applaud the team.

Ok we might not have made wembley / got promoted but we got very close. if only a couple of those shots that hit the woodwork had gone in it would be a different story.

Many people thought we would only make mid table or even be relegated to miss out by only 2 points was a good effort

    COYR
  • That shouls say "and applaud the team."

See this is what i don't understand and upsets me. This place has never been the cauldron of negativity some people try and paint it to be. Indeed the consensus from comments outside of this forum regarding CL is that the thrust of the forum has always been overly supportive.

When you have hundreds of people posting views, it is a given that not everyone is going to see the same as you. That doesn't make your view right and the other one wrong, or vice versa, its just the way it is.

Just scan read. Concentrate on the posters and the comments you feel you can allign to, and skip other the rest without taking their comments seriously. The great thing with everyone having their say is that YOU can always provide balance if you disagree with something, and i think this forum has always been well-split with views, and by and large played out in a relatively respectful way.

If people stopped posting because they know there are going to be views they disagree with, then it will lose that balance. And if those people who are more than likely to be balanced and supportive stop posting after a bad result, that's the same as the ranters who get accused of disappearing when things go well, no ?

Come on, don't take it all too seriously guys.
  • Exactly, as soon as you meet AFKA you realise what a reflection of him this site is, being a fun, happy-go-lucky, optimistic fella.
  • I've never met AFKA (as far as I know) but I thought this site was bigger than that!
  • If it all goes quiet tonight - a polite request:

East and West stands get off your blinkin' hands and show a bit of effort.
