Who is ready to sing there heart and souls out monday?

edited May 2010 in General Charlton
I feel the game on monday is the biggest in many many years. I would love to see the 25,000+ make the valley a real fortress. I for one will sing my heart out (row Z J block)

I honestly believe Swindon will get extremly nervous as they do not have the experiance we have, and if ever one of us can give it all and really be our 12th man the goals will fly in just like they did againest the MK Dons.

Charlton in our hearts, promotion in are grasp. ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK.

WE OUR NORTH UPPER/WE OUR NORTH LOWER

  • They looked quite nervous after we pulled one back yesterday, and the fans even more nervous. Pressure somewhat on them, we just need to hammer them at home.. I'll be singing for the 90 in NWD on Monday.
  • Yeh the fans went silent after the goal. I went mental to the left hand side of the goal, giving it to the swindon fans. What a difference a stand without a roof makes. Cant wait for monday. Im going to be on my feet for 90 singing as much as possible (i hope the whole of the north upper is standing and singing)
  • Fans can make the difference on Monday.

However I will be shouting not singing. If I wanted to sing I'd join a choir.
  • Funny guy.
  • We our North Upper?

Yeah. And that was the time to make a couple of changes and push on.

Parky sitting in the dugout with his coat pulled over his head i think.

I reference to the J/H block songs, try and get lower involded hopefully will catch on to get more noise.
  • Oh. Got ya...
  • Good idea you think?

Its always a good idea to get the rest of the ground involved in the chants. However most seem content with watching poor quality football and sitting around quietly (as Roy Keane once said prawn sandwich eaters). Your entitled to do as you please at football but i have tried so many times to get the whole ground to stand and sing and other areas (a few of my mates even tried handing out flyers) but it wont happen sorry.

  • You handed out flyers?
  • I'd like to sing, but I'll be going to the match on my own.
  • Can we not try again. I'll be happy to help!!
  • [cite]Posted By: WSS[/cite]You handed out flyers?

Not me some of my mates sho i go with up in H block this was about 4 years ago now though cant remeber whether i was even at the game they did it tbh.

Why would that stop you. If you came up in H block with us lot your singing would be welcome whether on your own or in a group point is your Charlton let it be known mate :-).

I went on my own last night and sang!!
  • Yea Cray i would love to a bit late now though to go producing publications and stuff, a week ago and we could have sorted something out. Its a really good idea though so the best thing to do is speak to my mate who did it last time hes an older gent and i haven't even spoken to him about Monday so i will give him a ring when i finish work and see if hes going hes the man to talk too.
  • I don't know whether I want to laugh or cry!

Bit of both from me i have accumilated man flu over the day and really do not feel well i think my immune system is the weakest in the world.
  • Ok nice.

I'm hoping row z j block will be standing.

I really think the valley will be rocking. If we repeat new songs enough people will catch on.

It's just getting enough people to sing the new songs. Lots of other club do it why can't we. Maybe some flyers
about the joining in and some new songs.

All of the covered end will be standing mate they are every game (well all Block J and H anyway). Yea your right its easy enough to get the covered end involved its just the west and east stands were we will struggle covered end will have no problems with chants though dont worry about that :-). If its going to be anything like Leeds when we score it will feel like the stand is going to fall over lol.
  • Do you think, North upper/North Lower chant is a good idea?

And laugh or cry it's commitment.

I can't wait for it Monday. Why is everyone in east and west so silent? Can we not give them the poor clappers things like Swindon, at least it will make noise!!!
  • I've given up two weekends on the trot to wangle the 29th off....

    Charlton's gonna do it again...!!!!

As long as you little herberts stay out of my seats ready for me to arrive 1 minute before kick-off then I am happy

EDIT - Is this thread real?

I do think a North upper/lower chant is a good idea yes i think North lower as a rule are quiet noisy but i dont know as i have only ever sat in H block and once in West stand. I cant answer why they are so silent in these areas mate all i can say is they were (in the prem) there to watch good football which is fair enough but since that standard of football will not be back at the valley for a while (unless we get a prem side in a cup) i dont know why they dont make the most of it and create some atmos.

LOL Mister Windscreens comment v amusing i can just imagine the really scary stewards we have at the valley putting their foot down.
  • I've got the 29th as annual leave, I've booked this weekend off aswell. I honestly can not wait. I want to get there early say 4ish. In regards to mrs windscreen she sounds like she needs a seat in the north stand, tell her from me to keep up the good work. I really hope everyone is buzzing and up for making it a fortess!!!

Have done my best all season and despite how i feel atm i am going to spend two days resting in preparation for this. So i can do my best as i have done ever since pre season games.
  • Sing so loud the East & West might stay awake
  • I can only imagine how much I would laugh if I read about Palace or Millwall fans feeling it necessary to print leaflets to get people to stand and sing!
The main difference between this game and many others is EVERYONE has bought a ticket for this, and only this game. It's not just another fixture on your season ticket. We all want to be there so I feel most people will be up for it and ready to support loudly.
