Hello Sparrows Lane Lion... I thought it odd you didn't bid for him as he would have been my first choice to go after once you went up and was suprised you hadn't..... How is Puncheon btw? Have you signed him permanently now?

We did bid, around £1m, was rejected, we wouldn't go any higher. That's what I've read.
Puncheon is good. Back to Southampton. They've increased their asking price since he performed so well. We've told them to stick it. Fingers crossed that in the last few days of the transfer window they lower the price looking to offload him.
Southampton seem to be the new Leeds of that division, cocky little shits with a high opinion of themselves.
I don't know about this one.
Obviously he's a good player and he can bang them in. It's just... I hate his face. He is a smug little b@stard and everytime he'd score for us I'd get the urge to run down and smack him in the face.
Might just be me though.
I wouldn't worry EastStand... he's in the Kevin Philips category for me... would love to see it happen but can't see it happening at all
Both Championship bound... Austin to Burnley I reckon, Howe scouted him originally for Bournemouth when they were in L2 but couldn't sign him due to the embargo and Burnley have the parachute payments + more if they offload Eagles. They need an injection and I think it will be with Austin.

Think he will get a Premier League side myself. Circa 2m and someone like Newcastle.
I have it on very good authority that Burnely's wage bill is £14m and they get £38m parachute payment, with no debt. They have cash to splash. Eagles' move has been cancelled by Howe. They'll get Austin for something like £1-£1.5m with add ons.

You offered a piss poor £150k for Puncheon, while £800k+ is certainly overpriced for him £150k is a LOLable offer, one which Cortese took an insult to. We paid £250k for him, I personally think £400k would be a fair price.
[cite]Posted By: kingston[/cite]Why on earth do supporters of Southampton & Millwall want to post on this site ?
Go away and play somewhere else !
Do any Charlton fans post on other club's sites ? I cant think of anything more tedious
Sparrows Lane Lion is a decent contributor to the site who always present's an interesting take on things, we may not always agree but then in life who does? SLL is always welcome in my view.
Have you had a look at other clubs sites, especially Millwall's? I'm not surprised Sparrows comes on here and he'd probably feel more welcome if people could control their urge to make smart remarks and cheap shots. Banter where it's due and all that. I cringe half the time as you can see what's coming a mile off. As for Saints fan and others, why not as long as they have something to contribute?
[cite]Posted By: coltsgoalie[/cite]how does everyone know hes handed in a transfer request
I should imagine his agent has tipped off the media, in order to spark a bidding war, thus increasing the transfer fee paid and the player's signing on fee, and hence their own cut.

Paynter is out of contract this summer I believe.......
Fear we might be near the end of a very long queue of clubs but would love to see him here.
Would certainly send out a statement of intent.
We'll be in for him again I'm sure, but there are plenty of clubs looking at him with bigger budgets than us.
Big difference between a young player going out on loan and a permanent move for a striker in his prime.
Don't think we have any chance of this one.
Not too bothered - he's a good player, but a cocky wee so and so anyway.

Or is that overly cynical of me?
