waggy was on longer than akpoo
  • Randolph - 7 (some vital saves first half, although most were straight at him, so looked harder than they were. Also I have questions about the 2nd goal, should a shot across him be going in?)

Richardson - 6 (not one of his better games, bit quiet attacking, unsure at the back)

Sodje - 7 (Great block, but defence was a whole was not on their game for some reason)

Dailly - 6 (nothing wrong in particular, just not a great defensive performance all round)

Borrowdale - 6 (see Dailly. Why did he take that free kick though?)

Sam - 7 (lots down his side, put a few balls in and won a few corners. Still not what he should be though)

Semedo - 7 (standard Jose. Reliable and knows what he's best at, so just lays off a simple ball)

Racon - 7 (few good passes, wasn't as bad as he has been in some games. Still lacked something in the final third)

Bailey - 8 (MOM. not the biggest fan of him on the wing but he was good tonight. Always willing, great shot against the post, for the first time in a while I thought he always looked a danger)

Burton - 8 (good chasing for the goal, and some useful holdup play. Imo though should have scored at least one of the headers that were pretty much on the line)

Mooney - 7 (not as bad as some make out. played well with his back to goal, just needs the confidence to shoot a little more. Can't see him starting Monday though, we need someone to take shots at goal)

    Subs:
Forster - 6 (couple of nice moments but didn't have any real chances to make an impact)
Akpo - 5 (came on too late to make an impact. Basically a poor man's Burton)
Wagstaff - 5 (came on too late to make an impact, especially as we were backs against the walls)

shot was a cracking finish, right in the corner across goal. For keepers, the far post is always the hardest to defend from that angle - if he'd been beaten at the near post then fair enough. Neither goal can be blamed on Randolph, he had a great game today.

    Randolph - 8
    Richardson - 6.5
Sodje - 5 (great block but got done too many times)
    Dailly - 6.5
    Borrowdale - 6
    Sam - 6.5
    Semedo - 7
    Racon - 7
    Bailey - 8
Burton - 6.5 (excellent header, looks so much better every time i see it)
Mooney - 6 (strikers made no impact in the first half especially)

    Forster - 6.5
    Akpo - not enough time
    Wagstaff - not enough time

Confident about Monday, nervous as f*ck at the same time

    At the game

Randolph 8 some very good saves
Richardson 6 corners were poor, didnt link up enough with Sam
Sodje 4 all over the place, got run ragged
    Dailly 6 solid
Borrowdale 5 poor corners, should have jumped when they scored their first
    Sam 6 inconsistant
    Semedo 7 battled well
Racon 6 got caught on the ball to much
Bailey 7 unlucky not to score, quality shot
Burton 7 played well, shame he has nothing playing alongside him
Mooney 2 whenever were crossing the ball never busts a gut to get in the box. very poor today

    Forster 5
    Akpoe 5
Wagstaff 0 pointless bringing him on dont think he touched the ball, why didnt Reid come on instead!

Not sure what Reid has done wrong but surely today was the day to pack the midfield and go 4-5-1 with Reid and Sam on the wings and Bailey,Semedo and Racon in the middle. Every time Reid plays he looks lively. I hope I'm wrong but playing Bailey on the left could finally prove the undoing of this season. if he wants to play Bailey play him in his natrual postion in the middle and drop Racon, He is not attack minded enough.

    This. ^^^^

Not as bad a performance as some are saying.

I felt we were very tight in the first half and frustrated them, but I get the feeling Parky asked them to be a bit more attack minded in the second half and that opened us up to two counter punches.

Apart from the last five in the 2nd half, I felt we were looking the more dangerous and they were puffing a bit.

    Anyone know the corner count?

Sam-5.5 (Once again our 'potential' match winner went on the missing list!!!)
    Semedo-7
    Racon-6.5
    Bailey-7.5
Burton-8 (Worked tirelessly with little support from his fellow striker...held the ball up superbly, though a little too often with his back to goal for my liking, also won many a 'flick-on' / 'knock-down' header).
Mooney-3.5 (Very poor and ineffective game).

I'm surprised Bailey is scoring so high; his passing was woeful.
He always seems to pick the more difficult option and invariably gives the ball away.
He deserves credit for that shot though.

I thought we looked the better side but we are so toothless up front it puts too much pressure on the defence.
Austin and co showed that a potent goal threat can cover up a multitude of faults at the back.

    Randolph 8
    Richardson 6.5
Sodje 6 (extra point for the block but injury affected his game - Llera should have played)

    Whys that?
  • Randolph 8 Find of the season
Richardson 7 As always great energy all game
Sodje 6 Got caught out much to often
    Dailly 6.5 solid
Borrowdale 6 Someone tell him to aim the corners at the penalty spot and not the goalkeeper
    Sam 6 Annonymous
    Semedo 7.5 Mr Reliable
Racon 6.5 Some nice touches but does not get in the game enough
Bailey 6 Poor distribution. Swindon fans on the train thought he was superb "We couldn't handle him"
Burton 7.5 Did well considering he was playing on his own all night
    Mooney 2.5 see above

Forster 6.5 has to play Monday. Not afraid to shoot

    Akpo - No time
    Wagstaff - No time
  • Bailey has one of his best matches in ages his work rate comitment and attitude was head and shoulders above everyone bar semedo, Bailey IS NOT A LEFT WINGER his distribution when he went back in the centre was excellent

the worst score should be held for parky who got his starting lineup wrong and his subs wrong

2nd chance monday phil put it right
  • At the game.

    Randolph - 9
    Richardson - 5
    Sodje - 5.5 (+ 1 for that block)
    Dailly - 6.5
Borrowdale - 4 - Heavily reasonsible for goal, shocking set pieces, feck all going forwards.
Sam - 4.5 - Involved but lacked purpose and ver little came off for him.
Semedo - 7 - Our best outfiled player
Racon - 5.5 - Involved but not influential.
Bailey - 5.5 - As per Racon and wasteful with the ball.
Burton - 6.5 - Slow start, but got better took his goal well however fortunate he was to get the chance.
Mooney - 5.5 - Opposite of Burton, looked bright in first half hour but gradually faded. Would be a good player with pace or strenght but sadly lacks both so can't really make the most of his intelligent play.

Forster - 5.5 - An improvement on Mooney but didn't threaten to score.
Akpoe - 3 - Did he touch the ball?
Wagstaff - 3 - Did he touch the ball either?
  • i thought bailey was poor at crossing but as he aint a left winger i could accept that

he was all over the park and put in a captains performance no way near wasted as many balls as Racon
