[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]9k pw. I don't think so.
Neither did I, asked if it was all BS, apparently that is what he was on last year at Reading and we matched it, if true (I am sure there is no lying involved) it is frightening.
[cite]Posted By: CHG[/cite]I have got a good pal who used to play for Margate with both Sam and Akpo Sodje. My mate was on a stag weekend with them the weekend just gone. Apparently Akpo is buzzing to be contracted to Charlton, he is a lovely quietly spoken chap apparently, couldn't wipe the smile off of his face. Sam on the other hand is a lunatic, always up to stuff. They managed to get contract info out of Sam on this stag, I wasstaggered, he (apparently) was on 9k a week. He said that he knows he will need to take a pay cut if he is offered a new deal, which he is not sure about whether he will or not.

9K.......... Never in a million years!
Maybe that's what Pardew paid for him in his first year long stint here?

So translated into plain English, as a 31 year old with a dodgy knee and running out of playing years, he's looking around for the best deal he can get. Can't blame him for doing that, we would all do the same in our own careers.
He knows Charlton, if they do offer him a new contract would be on much reduced terms - which he will accept if he can't get better elsewhere.
£9k? A year ago it was said on here apparently the budget for the whole defence was something like £10-12k a week. I thought that was perhaps a bit low, but I find it hard to believe we're paying anywhere near that much for someone that only signed last summer.

I was told Christian Dailly was basically playing for expenses and that his wages were minimal (in footballing terms anyway). My informant is credible in my opinion.

That doesn't sound unlikely, apparently he was living in London while at Rangers, just played for them when required.
What Richard said at the PLC AGM as reported here at the time
"RM said when asked about discipline of players that both Sodje and Burton have been given the maximum fines possible and that money would pay for a loan (laughter). RM added that 14 sending offs is maybe why Sodje is a free transfer on £3k PW rather than playing in the Prem or CCC. On Burton he said he was disappointed as up to then he thought DB had been a model professional."

Interesting, just sent this to my mate, sounds like somebody is telling porkies.

RM pointing out that in his opinion, Sodje had the ability to play at a higher level - but the flaws in his game including irrational temperament, illustrated why he was playing only in the Third Division.
The translation from Google was OK, but it seems from this website and a few others that Sam Sodje was only at Scoda Xanthi for a few days. He has already agreed the mutual termination of his contract due to family reasons.

I get the impression this site lists players out of contract on 30 June and technically available - with info supplied by agents.
Some of these players will already be negotiating with new clubs, of course.
But a few will be negotiating with their existing clubs.
In any case, agents will be pushing for the best deal possible.
The bigger the contract, the bigger their slice of commission.

That would make him 11.1% more expensive than Moutouakil if true
I'd be delighted to clear that in a quarter at the moment - let alone a week

Anyone signed since the second CCC season (after Pardew spunked all our dough) will be lucky to get 3,000 per week.
With footballers wages just divide the figure you hear by three and you will get closer to the truth.
No idea but whether he earns 3k a week or 103k a week it was a stupid sending off so don't see what his wage would have to do with it.

May well have been on 9k PW from Reading when he first came on loan but doubt he was this season.
At least he will get a badge.
Not like us Charlton Lifers!
