[cite]Posted By: nichorob[/cite]What did Sam bring to the team yesterday? Apart from playing his part in their first goal.
I think the point was that although Sam is inconsistent, he has had good games when he's started games. Most of Wagstaff's good games have been from the bench.

Ok point received, but i'm sick and tired of waiting for what Sam will turn up especially when 4/5 he is anonymous. Too much of a risk, Wagstaff wouldn't of done any worse put it that way. Or even stick Bailey on the right wing.
I know what you mean, but they are the options we have. We need to score at least once on Monday, and from the start Sam is better, and off the bench Wagstaff is better. Got to be that way around for me, and just have to hope Sam has a good game. He's one of the few players that might create something of he gets a bit of space.
If we don't go up we could really miss Sam next season. If we go up, maybe we'll get someone more consistent.
I'd have liked to see how Bailey would do on the right, but can't see us trying something like that now of we haven't all season. That's a risk itself.
Fortune favours the brave though Scoh, I think it's a lack of adventure and invention that has perhaps held us back this season - in the dug-out as well as on the pitch. I'd like to see us try and try to catch Swindon unawares as they won't be expecting it. I agree though, I very much doubt it will happen.
Sam has played well of late, he was good against leeds and got the assist. yes he didn't cause a lot of problems yesterday, but when he got the ball he generally kept possession even if that was square balls. it really frustrates me when people start shouting and having a go at Sam during games when he plays it square and runs inside. he can't take on and beat the full-back every time, and if he doesn't think he can do it in certain situations i would rather he came inside and kept possession and tried to build then just keep being selfish and losing the ball.
Wagstaff is utterly mediocre, his best attribute is his attitude, he is really short on ability, putting him in would be stupid.

Don't disagree with that, though would rather we go for it with Bailey in the middle for Racon and Reid on the left. At least then the players are comfortable in their roles.
[cite]Posted By: nichorob[/cite]I suppose you are right. He just frustrates the absolute living sh*t out of me cos we all know what he can produce when he can be bothered.
We all get frustrated with him. Not sure that's it's just down to him being lazy, just a typically inconsistent winger and doesn't always have the confidence.
It would also help if he had a bit more to aim for. Bailey tried crosses but they have to be almost perfect for our strikers to win them.
You would think with an experienced target man like Burton or even Akpo they would have a perfect target to aim for. Oh I dunno, getting frustrated thinking about it. We all know that we will probably get the same line up as yesterday bar any injuries on Monday.
I think it is time for Reid to come back in and we need width on Monday, imho their defence is there to be got at so two natural wingers will test them a lot more. I know this is extreme but I don't want to see Mooney play for us again, therefore give McKenzie a place on the bench. If he is fit then he can make a difference if needed and has had an impact in previous games when coming on.
