[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]I hope after tonight's performance the Club have enough staff on over the weekend to cope with the surge in demand for tickets.
what giving them back
we will win this tie i can feel it in my waters its 2-1 halftime in a proper football ground it is going to be a humdinger a real special night,
All I know is that I'll be there regardless.
We were mullered for much of that game last night yet still we are only a single goal behind which is very fortuitous.
With my glass half full, I'd add that we now know we have to go for it. No point in trying to protect a slim lead as Swindon might. It should be a cracker.
When we have really attacked at home this season we've been fantastic.
Don't think last nights performance will add any waiverers to the gate however.
22,000 tops I reckon.

Me too. My brother is down there now, getting tickets. Waiting on his report, but he's not like me, he's a "now and then" type. But he watched in the pub last night and is now well up for Monday. On that basis, it'll be a very good turnout.
We normally get 1,000-1,500 who pay on the day. I don't think you can assume that in this case, because of the nature of the game, i.e. season ticket holders have to pay, potential shortage of seats. Looking at the stadium map just now, there are plenty of seats together but not in the better places.
They are making everyone go to The Valley to buy tickets at this stage because the view is we can't handle any volume of collections on the night, but it doesn't sound as if it is very busy.
Bear in mind, however, the stadium will seem more full because everyone with a ticket is likely to turn up, which isn't usually the case.
why won't they handle collections? I'm surprised - people may not turn up on the off chance on the night as it' s on TV and then they will miss out both ways - ok for those who live local but for others....... yet another dumb decision for the people who run our club whic could mean we end 3,000 short - i would hav ethought the ombination of wanting max atmoshere and the money would have made them go the extra mile!
They want to encourage people to go down there over the weekend if they can to avoid unmanageable queues for collection on Monday night - obviously there is a risk that it deters people who can't get there from buying at all. If there were more ticket windows available it would be done differently.
It's a dumb decision if you only look at the sales perspective, but the staff have to take a wider view. No one is going to thank them if they are still queueing outside the ground at 8.15 on Monday.
there is no excuse as to why people can not get down there to get tickets this weekend none whats so ever anyone still queing at kick off monday will get no sympathy from me

I had to go and collect a duplicate ticket this morning because the one I ordered a couple of weeks ago hadn't turned up. I was surprised how quiet it was at about 1045.

Depends where you live. If you are based 50-plus miles away, as a significant chunk of our support is, you might have a different view.
Airman, how many do you personally think we will sell? Also are we trying anything differnt on match day? E.g New music, Clappers, Free scarfs;) (joke for all you angry people)

I'll just take a jog down to the ticket office tomorrow, should only take a few days for me to get there ;-)
would have thought collection would take longer assuming they are looking for one named envelope amoung hundreds rather than buying the next tkt of the top of the buy but that is just guess.
Ours will be the biggest home gate and highest number of home fans of the 4 games so no need to beat our selves up.
Surely in Swindon you only have to compete with Reading for fans?
Maybe I'm wrong but with a local population of (I imagine) around 150,000? Swindon should be able to be quite a force.
We have to compete with around 12 clubs, some who offer top quality football.
I don't really care who's bigger.
We survived in the Prem for years against far larger clubs.
Didn't make us any worse- far from it actually.
I don't think anyone is looking down on Swindon.
You'd be hard pushed to find an Addick who didn't think Swindon were by far the better side on Friday.
I think it's all about the fact we used to sell out a 27,000 ground most weeks and now we don't.
Some of us are constantly looking for hints that those days may return and subsequently have an unhealthy interest in our, and other clubs attendances.
Think nothing of it Robin. Whoever we were playing it would be a 'scandal' if they didn't sell out and it would be a calamity at the Valley if there were more than 5 empty seats.

No
I wonder where they would have all fitted.

Surprised Huddersfield only had 14,000 and Millwall only took 1,800.

Not that that matters if we dont win the tie.
was told on friday we had sold 21,000 with saturday and sunday opening i think it will be a bigger gate than Leeds.
Our biggest game over the last few seasons, and still it looks like we might have empty seats!
Madness.
