Well I had a lovely St Georges day. Pretty much the whole school turned out in red and white, the playground looked fantastic at break time, a sea of Saint George's. We had a sports afternoon and a mini football tournament along with pie and mash for lunch.
All in all a terrific celebration of England and the kids had a great time.

Thank god, this seems to be catching on at long last...roll on April 23rd 2011.
We're having a party on Saturday night, complete with Pork Pies and as many other English nibbles we can prepare. Bought loads of England Flags so the house will look pretty good. The Canadians are very worried about being served warm beer though, I may make them play cricket or do some Morris dancing in the back yard too!!!!
Saw a few dancers of the Morris variety yesterday at Waterloo Station. Thought to myself, when i was a kid i thought they were ridiculous. Now that i'm a wee bit older ;-) i thought, how English......beautiful sight, long may men of a certain age tie bells on their white trousers & skip around with sheeps stomachs on the end of a stick!!!!!!!!

Completely agree with that. It also gets them out of the house on a summers day, and gives them an excuse to drink copious amounts of real ale.

Absolutely awe inspiring.
England 10,000; France 28.
I LOVE it.

stunning
I love this, best Shakespeare play of all. Branagh's version is possibly even better.
Completely agree with that. It also gets them out of the house on a summers day, and gives them an excuse to drink copious amounts of real ale.
What could be more English than that?!
