  • Same to you SLL. We have a none uniform day at our school and all the children are allowed to wear England shirts or red and white. We are celebrating by having a mini football tournament and I'm having pie and mash for lunch.

    In't England brilliant.
  • that.s rich coming from someone who supports a scottish team.

    'and did those feet,
    In ancient times...'

    Happy st georges day.

Off to have an english breakfast at my sons school where they also have a non uniform day but have to wear red and white.
  • Happy St George day everyone. Received my first ever St Georges day card yesterday. Thanks mum.
  • Leadenhall Market for my lunchtime tipple today.

    Happy St George's Day
  • And did those feet in ancient time
    Walk upon England's mountain green?
And was the holy Lamb of God
    On England's pleasant pastures seen?
    And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
    And was Jerusalem builded here
    Among those dark satanic mills?

Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
    Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land.

    Happy St Georges day
  • Happy st georges day.

Going to have a nice breakfast with some pie and mash later before going to get pissed
  • Have a good one all
  • Good to hear schools are embracing it! Can't recall my school ever doing anything like that.

Are they London schools or in Kent?

Things like that, wearing red & white, pie & mash, english breakfasts, and maybe even an hour telling kids about some important historical events in English history or famous English people is what's needed. No need to fear them turning into card carrying BNP members or NF activists.
  • Happy St George's Day to everyone! Everyone who is from this beautiful green isle. Everyone who chooses to live in this welcoming land of hospitality and acceptence. Enjoy it for what it is. A celebration of our Patron Saint. A day to be proud together xxxx
  • Have a super day everyone ! Thats great stuff what the schools are doing , they should do things like that in the office .

    Enjoy

I love England and I'm proud to say I'm English but you know what I hate about St George's Day?

People moaning about "PC" and not being able to celebrate it and how terrible that is.

But I guess that is being English as well and it wouldn't be England or St George's Day if we didn't have a moan about something and felt sorry for ourselves.

    St George was an Italian.
