  • [quote][cite]Posted By: KBslittlesis[/cite]If you want the Anti then take the Anti. If they keep closing down home pubs soon we'll have no choice. The only reason it's hugely promoted as an 'away' pub is to make the policing easier. As has been said previously, if enough of you want it, it will work. Just don't talk about your plans openly on here. We are a family club and deserve to have a large enough venue to accomodate our own supporters. Sod the away support. Let them stay dry. No one cares about away support at other grounds!!![/quote]
    500% agree
  • I have tried to get into the anti before and you need to produce an away ticket to get in, they have bouncers and Police on the door. This was against a poorly supported team as well this season.

RE: Anti - Charlton home game with poor away support?

    Colchester midweek?
  • Drunk in the Anti before the Willmall with about another 50 Charlton and all you could hear everyone say is how good the Anti is now!

A lot of people had not drunk in there for many years and was surprised on how moden it looks now what with the middle wall knocked down!

T.V's everywhere showing the football ,pool table, good duke box, fruties I think 4 or 5 different largers on tap what more could you want in a boozer (apart from toppless barmaids...lol)

I would quite gladly have that as my home pub!

Send the away crowd down to the Denmark as they love away fans sooooo much! or march them down to the pickwick? If plod is worried about escorting them past the Anti just shut the bloody doors untill they have past?

Drinking down the Denmark or Pickwick is still not a bad walk for away fans if you think where we have to drink at some grounds i.e MK Dons on Satutrday!!

    Rant Over!
  • Apparently the LIberal have been stiffed for £8k they are due for a telephone mast they have on site, they are chasing the company for a breach of contract, but if they don't get it they have few real options other than to close, real shame.

Re the Anti, thing until the POLICE can be convinced it should be a home Pub we have Zero to No chance of getting it changed. Perhaps some sort of co-ordinated case put to the Police sensibly may help our cause, other than that not sure what else we can do.
  • [cite]Posted By: adamtheaddick[/cite]The swan seems to be making a point of being a 'home' pub with 2 massive cafc flags outside. Almost like sticking 2 fingers up at the bugle saying if you don't want the footie crowd then we will.

I noticed the two flags when out running a fortnight ago, went passed again sunday and one's gone missing ; )
  • I'm more than happy to help with that Ketters. I tend to drink in the ground these days cos the Oak gets rammo. But its a real bug bare of mine that the Anti is now away only. When we first went back to the Valley i used to go on there on midweek games on my own while i waited for family & friends. Safe as houses. Shame.

  • I have been told (as a member, but couldn't make the meeting), that they are to continue trading but are going to actively seek a buyer for the property & assets (assuming the CIU rules allow this, which is being checked before their next committee meeting this Wednesday), basically, the members have voted for this, after the committee showed them the financial status on Sunday, as it is the members that own the property and assets, and the committee can only see the same issues & financial problems in 6 months time, as they will lose the matchday revenue in 4-5 weeks time until August. And any current full member would be entitled to an equal share of any monies left if a sale went through, after debts etc are paid, so, unless a financial windfall comes the clubs way, it looks like its a matter of time.

As I say, this is what I have been told by someone on the committee (no names) so I am only quoting my conversation with that person.
  • shame.

A few years ago either Charlton or the supporters club could have had a bargain but not the right time now.
  • Your right Henry, would be perfect if the club had money.
  • Will be collecting Player of The Year season Ticket votes on Saturday pre-match.
Please fill in the voucher at the back of your booklet.
    Thank You.
