[cite]Posted By: Chunes[/cite]Burton hasn't scored a goal from open play in almost 1000 minutes of football. That's almost 17 hours. For a striker that's unacceptable. Give someone else a go.

Granted he has been cack of late but the problem is Chunes, in that 1000 minutes of football his service has been truely diabolical. Will it matter who plays there?!

True. Plus Burton's the sort of striker who really needs it laid on a plate for him. So if we're not laying it on a plate, maybe throw someone in who can do something for themselves.

    Who's that then?

The fact is Burton brings the midfield into play - if he see's the ball. I'd have him over Akpo any day who was awful again the other day. I'd have either 4-4-2 with Burton and Mooney or 4-5-1 with Jonjo/Bailey behind Burton. I'd stick Tuna on the bench too.

I would change it to 4-5-1, keep Burton and get the ball into his feet/chest. Then he can bring others into play and thats when our midfield show their class. If Burton is having a stinker then i think Leon is more than capable to play that role.

Burton is our only decent striker and the only one who can hold the ball up.

I wonder how many of the people saying we should go 451, were moaning that we should go 442 earlier on in the season when we went through a tricky patch as the 451 got found out.

For what it's worth i think we have 2 home games against supposedly weaker opposition. We should be going 442 with 2 wingers (sam and reid) and attacking them.

But which 2 midfielders would you play in the middle? I don't have any confidence in any of our 2 midfielders to be positionally aware and disciplined enough to pull it off. If you ask me things have got worse since Bailey moved into the middle. He may play better individually, but the team has suffered as a result.

I don't know who that is. But it's definitely someone else. I'm not calling him a bad player, I like what he does for the team (when he does it), but no goals in almost 17 hours of football is pretty appauling.

Parkinson needs to start being consistent with his team selection. Pardew changed the team every week and we were relegated twice. Parkinson picked the same XI at the start of the season which is when we had our best form. I accept we have had injuries of late but he has a tendency to panic and make drastic changes in between games.

Decide on an XI and stick with it.

Burton has still set up goals when he has played, even if he hasn't scored himself. Clearly our biggest problem at the moment is that the defence can not deal with crosses into the box. What chance do the rest of the team have when teams all the have to do to create a chance is pump the ball into the box. While Basey is injured I'd bring Llera in at left back to provide some height and heading ability. Parky needs to make them practice defending crosses religiously in training and have a few words with Richardson who is constantly beaten in the air or to to his post, where we have conceded most of our goals of late.

I'd go 4-5-1 for until we get some confidence back. We have a good run of home games coming up:

    Elliot

    Richardson
    Sodje
    Dailly
    Llera

    Sam
    Racon
    Semedo
    Reid

    Bailey

    Burton

    Subs:

    Randolph
    Shelvey
    Solly
    Wagstaff
    Tuna
    Mooney
    Spring
