But at least he looked dangerous with the ball again, when we got it to him that is
  • Down to our 2 bob manager.
  • [cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]the blame for our slide into wherever it is we are heading is purely down to Parky. He hasn't got a clue. He spends half the season maoning we havn't got a natural wide left player and that Bailey is covering out of position and then when we get one in Reid he doesn't play him and opts for Bailey again. He changes formation every game and doesn't yet know what the best one is. He bombs Shelvey out the squad then starts him at Swindon and then bombs him out the next game. Same with Wagstaff. There is no consistancy. He hasn't yet realised that we don't really need a Semedo in this league, we play Brizzle Rovers and Yeovil not Barca and Real Madrid. He is a luxury we can do without. We need creativity, energy and drive from our midfield not a sit in front of the back four and protect them player who isn't even doing that now. We have no cohesion to our play and don't create anywhere near enough chances. He has brought in Sodje and Mooney and MacKenzie and none of them are going to score anywhere near the required number of goals. He clearly cannot motivate and if thing's are going wrong takes too long to realise it and do something about it. Other than that he's on the right track.
All fair points but that's ignoring all the good things he's done earlier on in the season. All that balances out to him being a decent but average League One manager.

The reality is we have an average manager but average players as well.

Racon for example has only ever looked good in a 451 when we have the ball. Sam has only looked relativly consistent in this league. Both look ok in the Championship but never have for a full
season. Semedo does his job but is very limited in other areas. Bailey could play in the
Championship but he doesn't look completely out of place in League One either.

That was supposedly a Championship midfield last night. It can't just come down to Parky's lack of motivation and tactics, if they were that good it would show more often than it did. Not as if Bailey and Semedo weren't motivated, they just can't control the midfield every game. Fair enough Bailey was on the left but I'm talking about the whole
season in general. Long balls from defence don't help, but it also shows our defenders aren't well above League One either.

As for the strikers I don't even need to explain why they are only League One players.

A few decent Championship players maybe, but not an entire squad of underperforming demotivated good Championship players.
  • Parky should get the injured players squad players to pop round the clubs bars before the game and then sit in the terraces to see what the fans do for them to try and get some passion into them get a bit of kick bollock and bite.............we do always seem to be second to tha ball or back off lack of heart faith confidence
dont know what it is but we aint got it..........

how many wingers are strong brave but skilful and able to put in a good cross while only play at League One or Championship level? Not many at all.
  • why not drop Semedo back to full back last night? He has demonstrated he is great at that position at a higher level

We were also shocking at virtually every set piece dead ball scenario, yet the oppo were excellent and unlucky not to score. I actually found myself thinking Llera should come on....

Thats not the point. Im not saying he needs to be a cannavaro at tackling. Just how many 60/40's in his favour does he lose cos he shits himself. Its only a matter of time before he gets hurt.

    Like what exactly?
  • uncle makes a very good point

We're getting a bit off topic ..... but Razil has made a very good point.

Opponents seem able to score against us quite readily as a result of set pieces, yet invariably we look total unthreatening from our own set pieces.

We must have some variant to Bailey driving a dead ball into the wall every time.

Don't they have a blackboard in the dressing room and then 30 minutes on the training ground......?
