    Now, Andy Townsend...........

Andy Townsend just 'fancies' everyone e.g. 'I really fancy the Italians tonight'

    I bet you do Andy
  • [cite]Posted By: ChrisWhytesBaldhead[/cite]I think you look at all the "experts" and "pundits" who are in work now and the vast majority are terrible. So it does make you wonder why they keep getting jobs? I suppose it is all part of the obsession of having someone who is famous but not necessarily talented.

I would rather listen to someone i had never heard of talk sense, than some big star who is dull or doesn't have a clue what they're talking about

Very true. I reckon part of is that it means they can get away with the pundits saying any old bland rubbish, as they can justify their presence simply by virtue of being Alan Shearer for example.

My favourite pundit is Gab Marcotti, who has never even played professional football.
  • Personally, I can't abide Andy Gray.

£2.5 million? and for what? He plays well in one game against us (just like every other player that season) so pardew has to immediately sign him!!1 grrr....

Andy Gray is OK, get rid of Mark Lawrensen (total wank) and the Irish bloke with the really annoying voice on ITV....Beglin??

    Oh, and Ian Crocker
  • Gary Birtles does my head, his opinion on the game changes every second. And Alan Smith must be the most depressing git on TV has he ever been to a decent game ?
  • [quote][cite]Posted By: CafcAndy[/cite]Can't stand him..

Bendtner blatantly dives against Liverpool..The ref got it spot on from a bad position...Then Andy Gray insists it's a penalty because the ref couldn't have seen it..He is wrong 70% of the time![/quote]

I couldn't believe that either, his arguement was that everytime a defender sticks his leg out it's a penalty, even if they make no contact??? That's just maddness, he hasn't got a clue what the rules are!
  • There are no rules in football actually.
  • Andy Gray

Sorry, I really really like Apres Match

Tyler and Gray remix. Not bad
  • [cite]Posted By: Boysie[/cite]Brian Moore ? Legend.

Sorry, but I couldn't stand him, however well liked he may have been by many.

I hated his wimpy pessimistic comments during any England game he covered.
I hated the way he sucked up to Malcolm Allison.

I preferred Barry Davies or David Colman back in the day.

My current preferred team is Tyler & Gray.
My current pet hate is Alan Parry
Least favourite "pundit" is Gary Birtles

Amen to that Smokie, off all the big name brown nosers, he's by far the worst - "Oh what a fantastic ball by Scholes/Rooney/Fabregas/Lampard/Gerrard... just to far in front of XXX" - THAT MEANS IT A POOR PASS, BECAUSE... YOU KNOW... IT MISSED IT'S TARGET... NOT A "FANTASTIC PASS"... YOU MORON!!!!

Clive Tyldesly is also a complete tool. Can't stand his worship of Man Utd and any big name player. A 20 yarder by Rooney will be goal of the season potential, a 20 yarder by a Bolton player will be just another goal.

Andy Gray is okay, but I wish he'd give the players the same kind of stick when they make a mistake that he gives a Ref, especially when they've blatantly dived or cheated.

In some ways I like Alan Green because he doesn't make all his judgements based on reputation, he seems to be able to use his own judgement to describe the action - trouble is he's such a whinging git. Think my favourite is Mike Ingham, but he's on the Radio, not TV. Rhody Forsyth is quite good too, but he never comes south of the border.
