[cite]Posted By: Telnotinoz[/cite]Not a left back really is he? More suited to that left midfield holding job I think.....
I'm not sure what this is Tel? Surely a holding role would have to be central?

You were were not as bad as you think you were seeing as you were the much better team in the first half. Also Lloyd Sam was your best player going forward and the only one that actually threatened our defence I was surprised by how poor both Bailey and Shelvey were as they both possess quality though and some of your defending was dire.
Parkinson also got tactics wrong as he started with no proper left midfielder which left Adams our right winger to exploit your worst player in Basey so he deserves a 3.

    edited January 2010
Elliot - 6 - couldn't do anything about the goal, alright enough performance
Richardson - 6 - fantastic interplay down the right (our only outlet), perhaps could have picked up McGleish better for the goal
    Dailly - 5 - average
Llera - 4 - liability, turning circle of a dreadnought and the most obvious 'fouling' centre half you could ever want to see
Basey - 4 - left completely exposed but got twisted by that kid from leicester
Sam - 6 - as predicted, suddenly seemed a hell of a lot more interested when on TV, put in some good crosses but still too reluctant to go for the jugular down the flank I think
Semedo - 4 - surprised at some of the ratings from others, I thought Semedo was horrible last night and probably had his worst game at CM for us, sloppy and outbattled
Bailey - 5 - quiet game for his standards, found it hard to pick up the ball with Semedo off colour and very often only had Sam to give it to, he can't pull the strings when there's no options whatsoever
Shelvey - 5 - same distribution problems as Bailey, his first hit was worth a go, the other two later on were naive and desperate
Burton - 7 - gave a lesson on how to lead the line, great interplay, great touch, brought in other players, worked like a trojan and unlucky with his two chances... WHY WAS HE TAKEN OFF?
Mooney - 4 - twice tried ridiculous angled headers at goal when a flick-on was clearly the better option, sliced one of our best chances horribly wide and played far too deep all game, he can't play with Burton unless he is going to play on the shoulder of the last man or both of them will just be flicking the ball on to nobody. We need a striker to play with Deon, McKenzie is made of glass, Mooney isn't a willing enough runner and Dickson has nothing whatsoever besides pace.
Wagstaff - 5 - ran around like a whippet and put a good cross in with what was just about his only chance of making anything happen, but he isn't a left winger really is he?

Elliot - 6 Allowing only one goal at home isnt terrible. He is not focused on football at the moment with his cricket ambitions.
Richardson - 7 . Good game at Fulback. Hes lacking a step since his injury setback though...
    Dailly - 6 - Average
LLera- 5 -Not commanding enough in the air
Basey - 4 - Didnt see the ball enough in the first half to make Orient respect him. Basey was terrible
    Sam - 6 - Too flashy
Semedo - 6 - surprising sub off, but charlton needs points and semedo aint scorin
Bailey - 5 - For such a great player, he played poorly on the ball yesterday. He doesnt lead with his voice enough out on the pitch
Shelvey - 6- He works his socks off but he needs to develop into a winner!
Mooney - 5 - He never looked dangerous to score
Burton - 5 - Decent hold up play

Charlton are known to do so well in the beggining of the season and then tank it up to sqrew it all up in the latter half of season. The best run of form we had to end a season, got us promoted via first div playoff final. We went on like an 11 game winning streak to end the season, that form continued through the playoffs and got us promoted to the prem. I really wish somebody can drill into these guys that NOW is the time to start playing harder. Now is the time to win big. We dont want to fade into mid table right now!

Watched on TV, couldn't get to the game.

Elliot - 6 - Not really to blame, one bad pass out but he got away with it.
Richardson - 6.5 - Some great runs forward, but a few of them he ended up giving the ball away instead of actually doing anything with it at the end of the run.
Dailly - 5.5 - Can play better, nothing obviously wrong but doesn't look quite as solid as he has been in most games.
Llera - 5.5 - Too many long balls from the defence, especially Llera. Makes the strikers look poor and it makes it very hard for the midfield to do much.
Basey - 6 - Needs a left midfielder in front of him, though ideally I'd like to see Youga back and Basey perhaps at left midfield.
Sam - 7 - Our best player simply because he was our main threat and outlet, got some good crosses in. Another day his team mates would have finished a couple of the chances and it would have been a different game.
Semedo - 6 - We need his strength in there against any half decent motivated side, midfield just doesn't have any otherwise. Made mistakes but we're better with him there than without.
Bailey - 5.5 - Just not a good enough performance really. When he's playing well he's one of the best CMs in the league, but this was one of those games in which he just didn't or couldn't do it. Semedo coming off and the long balls from the defence didn't help.
Shelvey - 6 - Not a left midfielder, had moments of quality which like Sam can be easily forgotten. Has played a lot better though, but at his age he's inconsistent which is understandable (especially when out of position). If he plays in the middle, like Bailey he would need Semedo next to him, if not Spring.
Burton - 6 - Some great touches, understandably struggled with long balls up to him. Not really to blame a lot of the time, but has played a lot better.
Mooney - 5.5 - Better than Dickson but that doesn't mean much. Does ok at times but then can look like he doesn't have a great deal to offer.
Wagstaff - 6 - Still not convinced he's ready to be starting, Sam gets critisized for not having a football brain but Wagstaff still needs to develop in that area. Given time and more experience he hopefully will. Want to see him on the right though, he's not really got a left foot or the skill to ever be completely comfortable on the left.

elliot 4 not doing enough for me should be shouting at the backs to push up a bit but dont talk
richardson 6 thought he made some good runs and showed sam how to get past the leftback
daily 4.5 getting worse each game needs to lead by example
llera 3.5 long ball long ball its easy to blame the midfield but when they are being bypassed all night they cant get in the game
basey 3.5 not a fullback and to be honest i dont know what his postion is
sam 3 waste of time there last night got a couple of crosses in but they were just floated in and are defenders balls all night long
semedo5 Broke up play a couple of times but sits so deep its like having another defender. Do we really need 5 at the back at home to a bottom half team
bailey 4.5 never got going no captains performance again and should have been stronger for the goal and not cried like a girl
shelvey 6 never really happened although his passing success rate was better than most i think. Easy to say he's shit drop him, but he was the only dropping deep to get the ball so as to try and stop Llera hitting it 60yards all the time. Never hides and never gives up
mooney 5 I like mooney but just wasn't his night
burton 5.5 Tried to do the right things but the balls up to him from Llera had defender written all over them

spot on re. Llera and the long ball Uncle, shortest/most skilled midfield in the league and hardly saw the ball all night... not to mention from 65 onwards we were never going to win a header up front

Its been like that for a while now. I dont understand why we cant play through our midfield

Elliott - 6 Did ok. Caught his crosses and high balls.
Richardson - 7 Caught out for the goal but what a great cross it was. Great cut back for Mooney and strong running.
Basey - 5.5 Didn't get forward much but was left exposed by diamond system (same as Wycombe match).
Llera 6.5 - Thought he defended ok. One brilliant header out from inside his own 6 yard. Didn't always play the long ball but on the some occasions late on when no-one came short he had no choice. Passing wasn't the best but he is a CB after all!
Dailly - 6 He was ok. Won his headers.
Sam - 6.5 Brilliant cross which Orient CB did amazingly well to head out. Great cut back for Mooney. He was a threat and nearly scored 1st half.
Bailey - 5.5 We didn't win the CM battle and that gave Orient the confidence to attack. Over whinged about the goal but was possibly unlucky about the penalty shout (could well have been a red card if it had been given).
Semedo - 5.5 Committed beyond doubt but ponderous on the ball and often hounded out.
Shelvey - 5.5 Like everyone else, tried so hard but found it hard to make progress.
Burton - 6 Not his night but Parky may have wished he'd kept him on. Shapeless without him. Didn't do too badly with the one kicked off the line (keeper closed him so quickly but wasn't panicked into a hurried shot) but obviously 2nd half miss was bad...and crucial. A goal and he'll be back to his best.
Mooney 5.5 - Caught offside a lot and had a bad game in front of goal. His link up play continues to improve and he does help the team shape. Shouldn't have been booed or ironically cheered....he's still so inexperienced. With encouragement he'll be a good player.
McKenzie 5.5 - Won his flick ons and tried hard but that's all. Lack of game time shows.
Dickson 5 - Had a chance to impress with Mooney having an off night...but did the opposite. A ball to his feet is wasted and other players will look bad when they constantly try the ball over the top for him. Has to show he has more than pace. OR he has to lurk in the box and not try to get involved in build up play. Continues to try hard though.
Wagstaff - 6 Shows signs of improvement in terms of team play and starting to get to grips with the physical side. Can he do it when he starts though? Hope so...good attitude (and I'll forgive him the woeful shooting attempt!)

Parky 6 - Couldn't win last night. Took Burton and Mooney off early because it didn't look like their night but the two replacements looked iffy. Understood taking Semedo off but maybe could have gone for Racon instead of Wagstaff (although Wagstaff gets goals). Like him though and glad he's our manager.

Crowd 6 - Lots of singing from the lot in the North Upper. Thought the jeering of Mooney and booing (muted?) at the end was unfair. Not as if the team laid down and died like last season was it?

Probably but no harm in it, that's why I mentioned it just in case. Wouldn't be surprised if a few others watched on TV just didn't mention it.
