Another example of the Football and there bonkers rules on fans copyright. Apparently we can't even post up the fixture list at the beggining of the season or even better that story on QI the other about Dutch fans that had lederhosen taken away in the World Cup because they had the of another beer that wasn't the "official" World Cup beer.
I can just see the Football League having someone like old Graham 'Mr. Happy' Kelly sitting in a broom cupboard at League H.Q sifting through Facebook and all other possible sites looking for wrongdoers that have transgressed the archaic and inflexible rules they have imposed.
Ok we are getting somewhere, just joined vimeo as recommended by another user (thanx mate). The plan is to link vimeo to the facebook group and this is currently operating fine and the hartlepool video is viewable again To join the group goto http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=261997930962
Hopefully this should be ok and we can continue...
I think you may have a case for showing the streaker, because there wasn't acually a match on. This guy was arrested because he had, "stopped the match". Ergo you weren't filming an event organised by them, you were filming an event organised by him! Of course, it's going to be a tough one arguing why your vid is called Charlton 2 Hartlepool 1, but there may be a case for allowing a part of it to be shown.
Unbelievable - I suppose they have a spider or worm or whatever that trawls the internet searching for words like Charlton 2 Hartlepool 1 and flags it up - best to label videos by the monikers such as Addicks 2 Pool 1 and be safe(!)

yeah id thought that so when we play palace away next season if they manage to stay up, your saying call it something like "clowns visiting the toilet" for example
Basically, when all is said and done and we've paid our thousands in match tickets and TV subscriptions they are a bunch of cu**s. I enjoyed those you tube video's and looked forwards to them every week, why should they be taken away from me ?
To put this into a more specific context, the club receives a substantial five-figure sum for the syndication rights of match highlights via the internet and before Christmas this money was all that stood between us and a financial-based board decision to hand over the official website to PTV.
Nobody wants to do this, but people like Matt Wright and myself are having to work very hard to construct a financial argument against it. In short the money we receive from the league for internet highlights (other than on Charlton Player) is currently protecting you from PTV.
While one individual posting videos may not have much impact on their value, just as one streaker might not amount to a major outbreak of crowd disorder, the club cannot allow individual breaches of the rules without setting a precedent that would allow others to follow suit and therefore it is obliged to clamp down on individuals. It is also accountable to the relevant authorities for doing so. Ultimately, we will end up with the people doing the filming being removed and banned from the ground because the principle is at stake.
They really shoot themselves in the foot when they do this sort of thing. Who is going to say right im not going to bother going to anymore games or watch the highlights on the box because ill get my fix from you tube clips?
Also by putting such clips on you tube you may attract a wider audience for the league and clubs involved and it could be beneficial as they make pick up furhter followings.
Another example of how the game doesnt belong to the fans anymore.
Quality videos by the way.Suppose now will have to rely on the clueless blonde bint on the Football league show and the man utd supporting nothern monkey for true Charlton insight.

I agree with you Rodney, I think taking a soft approach may way encourage more interest in football and Charlton generally. Unfortunately, your last line blows this argument away, "Now will have to rely on the clueless blonde bint" - so these vids are, for you at least, an alternative rather than a supplement to the official coverage.

We really do not want to reach that stage.
