Here are my top 10 films of 2015

    1-Beasts of no nation

    2-Sicario

    3-Kajaki

    4-Black Mass

    5- Marvellous

    6-Spectre

    7-Slow West

    8-Unbroken

    9 -Still Alice

10- Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

A couple of films that just missed out are documentaries - Life Itself and
    Best of Enemies

Some proper stinkers in there (MI4, Spectre, Black Mass) but all about opinions.
Black Mass a stinker? It's the best thing Depp has done in years.
    Fully agree

The Hateful Eight - Just classic Tarantino. Funny, strange and bloody with some good acting performances. Enjoyable film.

As its not out for a few weeks, I'm wondering if you got to see it on a big screen? The way it was shot, QT is looking for the old fashioned cinema experience. Must make a difference...
I watched it on Kodi. Quality was still decent but didn't get the full experience as you say.

Must admit I liked MI4 and I also thought A Most Violent Year was very good (I know it didn't make your list)

MI4 was great entertainment . I saw A most violent year last year . A good film but it didn't make my top ten for 2014.
Shows you how late I am in watching films. Had it for ages and never hot around to watching it. I must change in 2016..!!

A good performance by Depp, yes. But a thoroughly charmless film.
  • My New Year will be seen in with The Hateful 8. 20mins in and loving it. For those interested, there is a perfect screener doing the rounds on certain websites at that the moment.

I think it's total lack of charm is big plus point. It's meant to make you feel that way.

Hmm interesting view. For me it's just charmless. Can't think why they thought it was worth making a film about that character. Goodfellas and Godfather all had characters the audience felt some empathy with. I felt none for Whitey.

I agree with Beds, the idea was not to have sympathy for, or empathy with, him.

I ended up with no sympathy or empathy for anyone in it save the DA who finally cut the crap and arrested them all. A bunch of vile people doing awful things. Great acting but not at all a great film. And Depp just looked like Mugatu from Zoolander, absurd.
  • Watched the Hateful Eight yesterday. Excellent film.

    Just finished. Loved it.

Has anyone seen the Program, the film about Lance Armstrong against David Walsh as the latter tries to prove that Armstrong was cheating?

@ForeverAddickted Have you seen it? I suppose not? I've been looking forward to it for quite some time. I'm a fan of Ben Foster's. I think he's a very good actor and extremely under-rated.

Kodi bothers me as it's ripping off my team's work but I guess that's by-the-by. In this case, I'm happy to wait for the big screen opportunity just to see the 70mm action.

Not a new film but finally watched Interstellar last night. Wow. Christopher Nolan is incredible.

Best director around - apparently his next film will be about WWII and stars Tom Hardy and Mark Rylance - one to look forward to.
Mate the guy completely blows my mind.

    Memento
    Inception
    Interstellar.... All his own work.

    Then the Batman movies..

All of them are edge of your seat, keep you guessing type of stuff but he gets me on an emotional level as well. Absolutely brilliant.

I like Intersetellar a lot, but there are many things wrong with it. I really hope he changes his approach a bit. If Dunkirk has a duel event sequence edited into a crescendo in the third act then he's going to turn into M Night Shyamalan.
  • Caught up with Ant Man. Cracking little brother of the Marvel films with nods to the franchise. Really enjoyable and some great characters.

Saw Joy at the weekend. Solid. 8 out of 10.
Saw The Good Dinosaur with the gf and kids over Xmas. Only Pixar could make a bloody dinosaur western that makes you cry... 8 out of 10

Went to see the Star Wars film for the 3rd time, loved it as much as the first time, sure you know what's coming, it's a classic film, looking forward to the next one.

Sure it has bit that you can be critical, about, but I thought they done well bringing old favourite characters back and introducing new ones as well.

I'm wondering how I can get a part as a storm trooper in the next one....
  • Beats of no nation - 7.5/10

    by Dre?
  • Watched the Hateful Eight yesterday. Excellent film.

Great film with some LOL moments (for the sick minded like me)
  • Mad Max nominated over Sicario or Beasts of no Nation - ridiculous decision
  • Watched the Big Short last night. Outstanding film. Carrell was brilliant as usual.
  • Saw Inherent Vice last night. Joaquin Phoenix as a stoner detective. Definitely one that needs a second viewing.
