  • excellent show

was looking forward to our "extended" coverage and instead got less than they showed on saturday , well done BBC
  • I saw Brighty has been employed by Warnock to flog Moses as well
  • fair play to the Beeb for giving it a go and realising there is foootball outside the PL but it really was dross. Hopefully it may improve.
  • Cant beat NetBusters on Sky. Just simply Goals & Music. No need for 'expert' opinions.
  • I thought it was okay, and Mark Chapman didn't mind asking an awkward question or two. As pointed out with so many clubs to cover we will have to wait our turn. I know that scheduling problems would prevent it, but London really needs an hour long show - they could always do and extr half hour via the red button I suppose?

Biggest problem I had with it, was the coverage of clubs like Gillingham and Wycombe being included. don't they have their own regional shows in Kent and Bucks?

I have not seen it yet, i just think that sounds like a good idea with the long version. either that or they could split over 2 days, 2 half hour shows?

I live in Sevenoaks, Kent, so would i still get the charlton one i assume eg. south east?
  • I liked the way Brighty said ' we ' when he spoke of Charlton.

He clearly still has a soft spot for us.
  • Bright coaches Palaces forwards and their youngsters
  • I've watched it and tbh it can only get better, not really inside our club as they said but just the same highlights and a bit of talk about each game like MOTD.
  • It was complete and utter jank as expected. I don't understand why broadcasters fork out for rights and a camera man at every game and then have no idea what to do with the resulting footage.

It would be understandable if there were still only 5 channels but all of these broadcasters have tons of scheduling on their digital offshoots that they struggle to fill with any kind of decent content and still they only show the goals.

I hate Rupert Murdoch and his evil empire but at least he has the sense to employ people who know how to cover football. BBC and ITV are completely clueless.

    Rant over.

  • Yeah, Soccer AM is da shiz. BBC should do more shows like Sunday Supplement where they get a bunch of fat twunts to pontificate as if they have some insight (although all they do is predict the ascent of whichever teams won on the Saturday and hard times ahead for those that lost).

The show is far from perfect (particularly the emails and questions to the bumbling Claridge), but had we been in this pit of oblivion a year earlier we'd be getting jack shit of coverage on free-to-air and Sky are not aware of an awful lot beyond the Premiership (I'd actually argue that their CCC coverage has been as Newcastle/West Brom focussed as most people feared the beebs would be), so two shows are better than none, for me
  • I think Claridge has improved over the season, it must be quite hard to have an opinion on 70 odd clubs but the guy has now got a bit of knowledge built up..... though he was awful to start with.

Chappers did really well, glad to see Malkay McKay there seemed quite honest though his insight'll not see him on it too much as I thought it was mainly clcihes he had to say. Brighty was average, providing little insight but talks fast, let's face it he was canny and quite clever on the pitch but he makes me cringe when he criticises strikers when he was a peter profligate player. At least he's better than the swathes of most other 80's footballers a la Barnes, Robson and McMahon. I'd like to see Warnock on there.
  • It really is a great idea, but the concept needs a lot of tweaking for me. It is no where near long enough, should be an hour and there was too much talking when we could have three or four minutes of each game with a voice over describing the relevance of each result
  • johnnybev1987, looks like both BBC London and BBC South East are showing the same programme, so it doesn't matter which region you come under.
  • 66-1 McGleish/1-0.
    Should have..................
  • Feature on our 1998 play off final win coming up!
  • Is Dan old enough to remember 1998 ?
  • Yes I am!
  • ;-)

Not having a pop at you, but, how can that be called a feature on the play-off final ?
    I've had longer burps !

    ;-)
  • I know I was at Wembley filming for over an hour and a half. They would have gone for someone older I think but needed someone at short notice.

  • Fuck me - that was worth it.
  • Wow, that was worth waiting for. That fan had to speak so quickly I'm not even sure it was English.
  • lording it in the pubs over fulham pmsl
  • i was going to bed but sat through the whole tramps guff of a show to wait for the charlton vt (vt stand for video tape, keith lemon special) i sneased and i missed it.
  • god the joy every charlton fan had from beating fulham, the consequences of the win didnt matter
  • Big derby game that one. Us at Sellout Park, them relegated and bringing a couple of hundred over. Pwopa naughty. 50,000 man pitch invasion if I remember rightly.
  • ''Bedlam''
  • of all the teams in london to call a derby match for us and some person picked fulham. if they were going down that line they might aswell showed us playing gillingham, i mean everyone remembers our great derby games with them over the years!?

i couldnt wait to get back to se7 and take the piss out of all the fulham fans next day at work?
