Snow and ice expected for South East and London
Due to the expected cold weather arriving in London and the South East tonight, Southeastern is introducing a revised timetable to come into effect from Wednesday 6 January.
To help ensure we are able to run the best service possible in these weather conditions, Southeastern is implementing a revised timetable which will provide a reduced service across the Mainline and Metro networks. This will mean a limited number of trains arriving into London before 0900. All High Speed services will run as per the normal timetable.
The revised timetable will be loaded into National Rail Enquiries overnight. However the revised timetable may still be subject to possible disruption due to the weather conditions. All Southeastern ticket holders can use High Speed services while the revised timetable is in place at no extra expense. Tickets will be accepted on London Underground on reasonable routes.
Southeastern will continue to work with Network Rail to ensure the best service possible and it is expected the revised timetable will remain in place until the end of the week. Passengers who are registered at the website are being advised by email and text alerts and posters will be on display at stations.
Extra staff will also be on hand at many stations to help passengers, but we advise everyone to check National Rail Enquires to find out details of the revised timetable before travelling (nationalrail.co.uk or call National Rail Enquiries on 0845 7 48 49 50).

''while the revised timetable is in place at no extra expense''
Oh thanks....SouthEastern, you gotta love 'em.
I'm starting to come round to your 'free travel' plan of action.
Riiiiggghhhht.
At least I can travel to Ashford and get on the HS service though eh? F*cks sake.
Bollox
Fixed
unfortunately we have to use their services to bloody go to work. I'd love to organise a "no-ticket" week on their trains but it's not going to happen is it?
That's the point, ever since the new timetable it's been crap. Sucker us in to paying the extra then BAM - normal service is resumed!
As said above, year after year we accept a crap service and year after year fares go up to pay for it. Will we ever do anything about it ? What can we do ? Alternative modes of transport are either not available or would take infinitly more time and hence they have us over a barrell. We want to work in London so as to earn allegedly better money then we have to pay for the priviledge. I don't like the French much but if this happened there then they'd probably march on the main stations, barricade them and set fires and boycott until something is done. We need some sort of action but what ?

That's the thing Large, the French have got the balls to get off their arse and do something whilst the Brits just sit there and accept their fate and have a good whinge.
The only way that you will/can get the government and train companies to offer an improved service is if there was a huge refusal from commuters to pay for their tickets until services were improved.
What are they going to do, nick 25,000 people at Charing Cross every morning?
Sadly, the British have become conditioned to thinking that direct action, otherwise known as standing up for yourself, is somehow the "wrong" thing to do when, in fact, if done peacefully is the correct course of action to take.
Why would the train companies or government provide an improved service when the mug punters keep paying an increased price for a declining service?
f*ck me backwards, 3,5k a year, thats has gone up a LOT even since I left and that was only a few years ago.....
But seriously, it's the new High Speed service from Kent to St Pancras using the Eurostar routes.
got ya..
9 trains an hour down to 2, and instead of starting at dartford they start from gillingham, stopping something like 17 stops befor it gets to sunny sidcup.
Absolute farce
