  • [cite]Posted By: AshTray[/cite]Why? He's surely a tool. Only seen him since the premiership years and always upsetting decent supporters with his behaviour.

He's been going a long time ... pretty sure I remember him in in the 3rd division last time we were there. In any event, he was around long before the premiership.
  • Maybe its ashtray who's only been going since the premier league years

Just out of interest AshTray, what sort of stuff have you seen him do to upset other supporters?
  • Standing up in front of elderly fans, using foul language on trains in front of children, families and members of the public in general, being generally obnoxious to train staff and taxi drivers. That sort of thing.

Sounds like a bit of a dope, no matter how long he's been going. Simple thing is to just ignore him and get on with your day.

Make you right ashtray. I had the misfortune to be in the same group as him one day coming back from Brum. Women and footbal and all that shouldnt be allowed but he was so vile to me - I held my own and gave it back as much as i could but got off the train close to tears.

Should have kicked him in the b*llocks curb_it.
  • i would have liked to but didnt have any back up with me as I had gone with a different mate who he was friends with.

    Sounds typical B.

Needs to be centre of attention, like a child. Generally a pea-brained bully.

It's ok saying just ignore him, but when you're stuck in a carriage on a packed train, or in an allocated seat in the ground (or on the only bus crossing the Swedish-Finnish border for two days!), it's easier said than done.

Hopefully if any of his friends are Lifers, which I suspect they are, they will do the decent thing and have a word with him.
  • How old is this guy?!

Captain was one of the Middle Park Juniors
  • Were does this captain sit at the valley. I have never seen him in H or J block and you could count on 1 hand the games i have missed since the prem years. However thats the only area i have sat in since about 99 so if hes not up there i can see why.
  • This has left me wondering if he was the guy I was near to at Southampton a few years back. He did like to abuse pensioners that day.
We dont have that many foul mouth knobs following us.
  • i guess this chaps not on here as he has not said anything could be youve met him on a bad day
  • O rite fair enough i will keep an eye out.

That was him. I was sat in the home end just by the away end and witnessed it. It was the day we lost 1-0 - their first win at St Mary's.

Captain has been embarassingly racist as well, disgracefully abusing a black lady on the tube a few years ago. I was sitting next to him at the time & tried to shut him up without getting thumped. She got off after about 5 stops and I was mightily relieved.

Unfortunately another black lady sat in the same seat. Boy was I gutted.
  • Really think this thread should be sunk. Accusations flying left, right and centre.
  • true it should be theres only ginger haired folk left that this blokes not been accused of having a pop at .......and im ginger so can say ginger

thats shocking you cannot be racist and live in London you will end up in all sorts of trouble.

are you his pal then mart 77.
  • I know Captain Curb It and indeed had words with him at Yeovil. He's ok when sober but that's not often when he's at games. He's been going for donkeys, so those who think he's a glory boy are way off. He can get out of hand but is all noise and NO bite. Lots on here know him. I'm sorry that you got abuse off him and i can only say that it wasn't in my company.
  • I only hope i'm with you B if you're unlucky enough to be in this fella's company again. Know how it feels to be bullied & its not right, especially by a fellow Addick. Can't say i have ever happened upon him at a game. Long may that continue by the sound of it.
  • I hate to slag Charlton fans off. I like to think we are all cool people who respect eachother and generally are not bullys racists or dickheads in anyway. So it saddens me to here of fellow CAFC fans being abused by fellow CAFC fans. Also why anyone would want to abuse Curb_it is beyond me.
  • Hello.
Sorry, but as I said earlier Dave (Captain) has been a "True" supporter of CAFC for years.
Yes, after a few "Stella's" he can be a pain, like myself, Ian, Pete Leaver and any other supporter I could mention, but, I geniunely believe that he's a nice, funny guy. If he has upset you or someone you know he would be the first to apologise the next time you saw him.
I don't really know why I'm writing this; If you've made your mind up about someone theres not much i can do.
Mine & his politics are as far apart as you can go, but, he is a nice, geniune fella. In My Opinion.

Edit: Ian, as in Ian Crartwight.
  • PS. Never, ever seen him in "tinted specs".

Politics doesn't come into it though. If he's occasionally abusing and bullying others, i wouldn't call him 'nice'. even if he does say 'sorry' afterwards. Only being like this some of the time doesn't really make a difference either. imo.

Si, as I was trying to say, 98% of time he's a lovely bloke: I only see him at Charlton matches, away from that he might be the biggest ***t in the world. I don't know. But, going on the bloke I know he seems like a nice fella......
I'm not here to critize or defend him, just telling things as I see them.

Well we are all entitled to our opinions. I think i will wait until i meet him to judge for myself. To be honest im surpirsed i havent met him before seeing as i have been in North Upper at almost every game i can realistically make but i have never sat in Block N (only H or J) so thats probly why.
