  • Rahul Dravid retired from International Cricket. Perhaps we could have a whip round and get him to play for us again this season as we've been missing someone who can actually occupy the crease!
  • We're dooooooooomed!
  • Kent XI for Yorks opener: Key, Newman, Harmison, Nash, Powell, Stevens, Jones, Coles, Davies, Shreck, Riley. Thomas 12th man

5 debutants and no room for Northeast. Big turnaround!

Northeast averaged about 25.00 last season as a supposed specialist batsman!

I think he's better than that and maybe Jimmy Adams is giving him a posterial kick to get him working and performing to his true ability level.

    Good management in my view.

Oh I'm not saying I don't agree with him not being selected. He did not have a good season last year, just goes to show the turnaround that has happened that a permanent fixture of the team last year has now been displaced by new signings. I hope he does get back in though, he undoubtedly has serious potential, but just needs to fulfill this potential. I think this is a make or break season for him, and if it doesn't go well I wouldn't be surprised to see him move on to a new club (like he very nearly did over the winter).

Newman is only on loan and I'm not sure Ben Harmison will hack it so I can see Sam getting opportunities. Will he take them?

  • As the new season has started I feel we should take the "(Not so Super)" bit of the subject title.
  • 201-1 against the so called title favourites should lead to the "(Not so Super") being removed.
  • Bugger, Key run out for 97!

Agreed, and could the year be changed too if anyone knows how to "Edit" thread titles ?

That was quick - and much better.
    Thank you
  • A very barmy 5 degrees in Leeds today. Hardly worth bothering with a sleeveless sweater.
  • Much better, thanks to the editor.
  • I'm here to please gentlemen. Howzat.
  • Nash, run a ball 50, class above?

Touch wood - but all the new signings have had a good game so far. For Ben Harmison I think this will be a make or break year, his FC average is decidely average, but if he rediscovers some of the form he showed from a couple of years back then he could be a great signing.
  • Let's not forget our boys down under with Daniel Bell-Drummond scoring 103 off 109 against Aussie U19's and Adam Ball doing his bit:

  • Mat Coles - highest FC score and a maiden FC hundred. I wonder what was going through his mind when Davies was out and Shreck (FC average of bugger all) walked into bat?
