"Rome wasn't built in a day....crawley was" I've got mixed feelings about people taking the mick out of the place where I grew up though. The whole thing about "chavs" still gets on my nerves a little bit as its uncomfortable when I hear people, particularly smug comedians, taking the piss out of working class people. I guess I'm taking this well off topic. Sorry AFKA. But new towns are an effect of a lot of historical forces. Mainly WW2, but others too. In crawleys case, aviation. And people who live, work, build there don't deserve some of the snobbery that comes their way This has no bearing on the MK Dons question
You said mk was a bob hole off it. I merely said it wasn't as good as london. Crawley isn't as good as london either. In fact not many places are. My point was maybe a little subtle for your booze addled mind. But it related to the putting down of the working class by the so called elite. This enables them to set us at our own throats and thus continue to, in you parlance, mug us off. I did not make a distinction betweem mk and crawley Pint soon?

Isn't that what supporters are supposed to do ?
We got stuffed and still sang more than you ex prem boys.
3-1 and still don't sing ?
Best song of the day
Franchise Scum Who gives a **** were 5-1 down but we wont give up
Your comments of us supporting MK Dons as our second team are rather arrogant, very ignorant and badly misinformed.
We didnt walk out until the final whistle we stayed to clap our team
Im no London export you keep your filthy, drug, crime ridden city for yourselves. I want none of it[/quote]

Ooooo - get you, comrade!
;o)
No booze for me today D - was in work until half five today. Spent the first hour trying to log on my computer and the "24 hour emergency helpline" was on answerphone!
As you can imagine, I'm very popular with the missus and kids just now - and to top it all have to go to both Luton AND MK this week!
[cite]Posted By: Maglor[/cite]I lived in catford for 8 years until 18 months ago - one of the lowest crime rates in London - (but then the Kray's street had no crime either).
I had fantastic neighbors - good place to live.
I was raised in Catford and lived there on and off for 30 odd years. My family lived in a large 5 bedroomed Corbett House in Broadfield Road. My dad bought it just before the war (circa1937) and it was the family home until about two years ago.My family were the longest surviving residents(my brother and his wife) in the road, we had that house for around 70 years....it WAS a really fantastic place to be brought up and live....but sadly I just wouldn't live there again....I'll live with great memories of Catford and it's former glory.
[cite]Posted By: nolly[/cite]my aunt lives on 81 or 83 broadfield soundasa, real quiet road.
Ermmm quiet in comparison to what nolly?
Just about all the houses have been split into two or three flats...when I was a kid all the houses were single family occupancy and very very few cars...now THAT was quiet....it certainly aint what I understand as quiet.
Plus all the lovely trees and gardens have been dug up and cemented over to park cars....those front gardens were fabulous....full of trees, lawns and shrubs....totally different....totally.
We lived at No 12....a semi detached.

That's no problem mate, you dirty, penniless, working class pikey :-)
my aunt and uncle bought it when they moved from rotherhite, they had people in there at time, then bought the whole house, five bedrooms, she told me last week she hardly ever saw children play on road, very pretty road
I spent 30 years in Catford too. Ardgowan, Minard, Broadfield and Wellmeadow - all very nice wide tree lined roads. Lived in Ardgowan for a while and they were quiet streets.
Anyway back to the point, how many Franchisee's were shipped in for yesterday's game?
At the end of the day it is the actual Wimbledon fans I feel sorry for, they lost their whole club. Imagine how we would feel if Charlton relocated 100miles away and we had to start again, AFC Charlton. MK Dons should not be in the league imo, if they are too exist they should have started where AFC Wimbledon did when they formed (i think in 04). I really hope Winkelman loses interest and they get replaced in the league by a team that has worked hard to earn football league status and has real honest fans, not those who are manufactured and if the club did not exist they would support Arsenal or United

I'm sure there was talk back in the 70s of moving Charlton to Milton Keynes?
Never came to fruition thankfully.
Just the joys of the Sainsbury Stadium and Upton Park!
The only chants I heard from MK was the no one likes us chant, which really summed up how pathetic you lot are and the comical/unoriginal we're going to win 6-5. Usually the away fans are the loudest, but that wasn't true on Saturday.
You call us Prem fans, but who did you support 5 years ago???
Great post by MCS!
I went out with a girl from Catford (Bellingham) many years ago, one of the worst experiences of my life.

I used to live in Catford and I can 100% confirm it's a scum infested hell hole - working class or not.
What's your nearest pub?
