1. Just to let you know Phil that the whole point of a 4-5-1 formation is that you play through the midfield and take advantage of the extra man. That way you have more possession and utilise the poor lightweight striker in a more productive way. If you are going to play the long ball because the players dont have the ability to pass it to each other (it is their job after all we cant expect miracles) then you may as well go 4-2-4.
2. Probably not the best move to leave out the best player and club captain. Maybe that was a clue as to why there was no sign of any leadership on the pitch
3. Equally not as sensible to leave out one of the few players who can bring a touch of magic and class to the midfield Racon. Again not just from the starting 11 but from the whole squad. Also remember he scored probably one of the best goals of his career at Southampton last season
4. Dont feel that you have to give every tom, dick and harry a game. Its not kids football, baseys dad wont have a go at you if you dont play him after paying his subs.
5. Just to advise you also that its also probably also not the most sensible move to take off the only player who looked capable of creating anything with a 3rd of the game left.
6. Curious to know why you dropped Randolph after he made several worls class saves on Sunday
7. Mckenzie is a centre forward not a left winger
8. Bailey is a centre midfielder not a left sided player
9. Youga is a left back not a right back
10. Holden i believe is a left winger not a right winger
11. Sam is a right winger not a left winger
11. Shelvey is playing too deep
12. Semedo is playing too far forward
13. Finally as a manager you dont need to impersonate a statue on the touchline. Its ok for you to ocassionally move your arms and mouth and give instructions
14. Resign before you totally screw up our entire season

PARKINSON OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bailey plays lw on a sat and is prob the best cm player in the league
tonight Sam a RW playing LW
took him off instead of Wagstaff ?? put on Holden who i thought looked a positive player good delivery ??
mckenzie rolls on for wagstaff and plays LW who is a CF
Holden a LW goes out right side
spot on with jono looks down in the dumps looks low
basey looks over weight
what was kelly youga doing for the goal
burton and mckenzie to start sat
mooney jog him off back to reading ill even give him the train fare
we have no balance to the side on the flanks
please parky i am asking you really nice p*** off resign get steve coppell
We look like we have no clue, no ideas, there was no reaction to Sunday but as long as the players get their undeserved wages then thats fine.
btw i think Pardews doing a great job at Southampton, maybe he wasnt the problem at Charlton. Maybe when Curbishley went the club inserted a claus into the managers contract to say that "from here forth all managers must display absolute stupidy at all times and give the impression that they dont know what they are doing" in which case they have all succeeded.
I'd best be off before I start something!
That's definitely the answer.
Chopping and changing with Dowie, Reed, Pardew really served us well
I'd best be off before I start something![/quote]
start something then, thats what we are here for. So you disagree that virtually half the team were played out of position and you think Parkinson appears to know what he was doing. Are you sure you disagree?
Yep, clearly Scott Minto was being ironic...
As rants go, i'm afraid the Grimsby effort wins hands down.
Er..because he was at fault for the goal and Ikeme is a better keeper
Either of them didn't do too badly there tonight, and it was Youga's shot that lead to Holden crossing from the right for our goal
If Holden's going to get a chance at least put him on his natural side, his best position.
Parky said after the game it was only when we brought on Burton and McKenzie that we threatened the goal - so play them earlier FFS!!
Getting crosses in wasn't the problem. Sam is pretty one footed, and for most of the time he was on had little to aim for. Start him at right midfield, play two strikers, get the likes of Shelvey, Bailey and Racon, whoever is playing, joining them in the box and he'll put some decent balls in. Hasn't got a great cross but his crossing isn't as poor as suggested at times.
2. Leaving out Bailey - why shouldn't he be rested? He's played with an injury recently and looked on Sunday that he needed a break, not another game.
3. Racon...ditto, he needed a rest and why not in the JPT?
4. Giving every Tom, Dick and Harry a game...eh?
5. I agree he should have kept Sam on, but in most games recently Sam has been subbed around the hour mark. I suspect he too is carrying an injury. He just doesn't look right to me and certainly hasn't been playing as he can/did earlier in the season.
6. I'd have played Randolph, but I don't think that Ikeme is a bad keeper. He should have saved their second. But then Randolph should have done better for NV's goal on SDunday. On balance I'd rather we played our keeper and Randolph deserved a second game. Still not a bad match to miss.
7. I think we seemed to play 3 up front with McKenzie playing in an attacking left sided role. Whatever he scored so maybe playing him there worked?
8. Err Bailey wasn't playing...
9. So Youga isn't a RB, neither is Omosuzi and JPT rules are that you must play at least six of your players who've played the most games this season. Presumably that forced Parky's hand somewhat with McLeod suspended, Richardson and Elliot injured etc. Plus this allowed him to rest Bailey and Racon ahead of MK Dons, besides that Youga kept Lambert quiet other than the goal he didn't do a great deal. As a one-off it worked.
10. Holden looked ok on the right and created our goal...anjd if he'd taken a second touch could have scored one himself.
11. Yep, Sam plays on the right but was hardly doing anything to suggest that moving him would be a mistake. Perhaps knowing that both Wagstaff and Holden can play on the right might just make him find the form he showed earlier in the season.
12. If Semedo played any deeper he'd be in the back four or the English channel.
11. Shelvey is the link man with the midfield, if they play deep then he has to, otherwise he's in no-mans land.
13. Yep, his body language and communication skills could and should improve.
14. Great, get Parky out and get who in to replace him? And what money will he spend? And in two weeks we'll be sacking this manager and a few weeks after that the next one will go and suddenly the manager's job at Real Madrid will look a bastion of job security.
A good point.
