Hume of Barnsley got a fractured skull from exactly the same kind of elbow. To some, when it happens on a football pitch, it's OK 'cos the other guy "must have said something."
That is pure speculation so let me add my bit to the melting pot. Parky wound them up at Half Time and probably singled McLeod out for not putting himself about enough. So, straight from the kick off, he stupidly demonstrates his idea of implementing his Manager's instructions.
Has the FA also decided to punish the referee who, despite being perfectly-placed, about 15 yards from the incident, facing the direction in which it took place, chose not to issue a red card or a yellow card or even blow for a foul?
[cite]Posted By: LenGlover[/cite]The only gripe (if that is the right word) is to ask whether the FA would have issued a ban if, say, Wayne Rooney did the same thing.
I suspect that they may not have done.
Well, when Shearer flung the elbow at Jon Fortune and was rightly sent off, the 3 match ban was already rescinded by Monday morning.
Whatever the rights and wrongs of McLeod's incident, there's definitely a law for prima donna's - and another law for the rest.

Pretty sure Rooney got a ban for pushing Ben Haim over a couple of years ago.
The mans an idiot. When he scores he takes his shirt of then gets booked every time, how thick can you be.He's proved he cant do the job so he's better of not playing anyway.
[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]I can not be happy that a Charlton player is unavailable to play if needed.
Deserved certainly. His own fault, yes but not going to join in the party to celebrate.
Mooney and Mckenzie or Tuna with Burton on the bench for me.
Still think we will see a Kandol/Iwelumo type player arrive sooner rather than later.
Certainly wont celebrate it, but its right that they have done this, this to me, is what sets Charlton fans, and this forum apart from others, and long may it continue. Imagine the whinging from Chelski & Manure fans if Drogshit or Shrek had received the same punishment for the same crime.
[cite]Posted By: Chris_from_Sidcup[/cite]Whilst i don't condone McLeod's actions i wonder if we'd all be so quick to criticise if it had been Sodje, Burton or Semedo who'd flung an elbow.
I subscribe to the Capello school of thought, no matter who it is, you cant have players do that sort of thing, bad discipline or cheating, for all he knows he could have broken the guys jaw/eye socket/caused internal bleeding (little dramatic I know, but it can and has happened before).
That goes for Bailey, Semedo, Shelvey, Dailly, any of them.

[cite]Posted By: ColinTat[/cite] but unlike say Dickson he keeps trying.
Really?
On Sunday Shizzle was trying very little other than my patience. Standing sulkily looking at NV players a few yards away from him and making no attempt to close them down. Not sure where the myth of his work ethic came from.

Can't honestly say that I would have been quite so vociferous if it had been say Darren Bent (booked 8 times in his career) because that would have been out of character. I would still have expected the Club to back a ban though.
As for McLeod he has been booked or sent off 52 times in his career. The lad clearly has a fuse and needs to change his ways quickly.

I honestly think we would Chris.
Agreed. But it would be with regret rather than relief.
Hang on? Didn't Hume get a fractured skull from a dodgy aerial challenge? Wasn't anything like sundays, the swinging arm that connected with him could easily have been one for balance. Don't forget Hume is a big lad and if he's running at you, you're going to go flying unless you stabilise yourself. Who knows if Morgan meant it but anyone who saw it can never know for sure unlike Mcleod. One thing that is for sure that Hume's legal but aggressive intent led to some of the damage, this does not blame him but makes the case to prosecute Morgan almost impossible.
are the FA going to charge Jonny Evans for his assault on Drogba ? Couldn't have been seen by the ref as he'd been at least booked otherwise. Sometimes there is one rule for one, one for another. However, Izale deserves it. Would be nice to see him apologising to the NV player and the Club for his stupidity.

........
At least three of those booking were for taking his top off after scoring a goal.
Once and you get the idea that you are going to get booked. Maybe twice in case you didn't think the ref would book you again...but three times suggests that he fundamentally isn't that bright.
He will be no loss, all that crap from Parky about how he has come back determined to prove a point and knuckled down in training. Well he has done nothing to suggest that he is worth over a million and tbh although this sounds reactionary and ott, I would not be upset if he never played for us again. He has had a chance to show us he can score at this level and a chance to make a name for himself this season, instead he has acted like a thug, given us poor performances (especially in the last 3) and done nothing to suggest he is a better option than any of the other strikers at the club, Including Dickson and Tuna!
Excellent news, now kick him out the useless twat. Might watch tonights game now. Maybe this is the spark we need to get things going again, enforced changes have a habit of coming good.

One thing McLeod shouldn't have done is raise his arm up deliberately.
Tough f***ing titties on him. If he loses his place to others who may now be given a chance, then it serves him right.
This was the right decision by the FA.
.......
Indeed, but I hope they are consistent and not selective.
The thing is they are consistently inconsistent.
He clearly isn't the sharpest knife in the block as he wouldn't of raised his elbow in a match that was being shown on live TV.
Maybe he wouldn't have been suspended if the game wasn't shown live?? Who knows...
On the flip side, Ngog falling theatrically to the floor is no where near as dangerous as throwing an elbow in the side of someones head.
Granted both counts do nothing for the game, but which one was worse?
