its not the losing but how we lost that worries me not a shot on target, midfield not in the game, and if we are honest when was the last time we played well.we now we have some good players but the application, desire and character seems to have disappeared.for me between now and january parky has got to earn his money because the way were are going we wont be in the top 6 by january.and then we have got to pull some aces from the transfer market with no money cause we lose sodje to african n.cup.we need a forward too many simply not good enough our books i.e.mcclown.hope our scouting system is working well
very good game the huddersfield match but the result could have gone either way ... we weren't convincing winners but the result and effort and performance was the complete opposite of yesterdays debacle
Can you honestly say we played well against Huddersfield? Yes we competed in the 2nd half and held on but we were lucky not to be 2 or 3 down at the break.
The more I think about this, the more I believe that yesterday happened due to a very poor attitude by the players. Take McLeod as an example, during the minutes slence prior to the game, leaning on a player's shoulder, legs crossed, totally nonchalant, ignoring everything. Leaving aside the lack of respct for the silence, it is clear in retrospect that he just thought we had to turn up to win ... he wasn't taking it seriously, and I wonder how many others were 'infected' with this attitude?
Far too many players had an off-day yesterday and it has to be partially down to overconfidence and lack of rspect for the opposition.

Chris, the point was we competed ... which we didn't yesterday.

Don't disagree with Ronnie Moore at this level, but if he got us up would he cut it at a higher level ?
He definitely should not have been sacked by Tranmere.
We're 2nd in the league. Get some perspective. Every team - even Leeds - will go through a blip this season, as we are at the moment. Nobody knows if it will turn out to be more than a blip, even if some think it they do. If we missed out on the playoffs then I'd sack him, as we should have done with Pardew after our first season down in the Championship.
honestly - i thought this was a decent debate on this thread about the reasons why it was difficult to say when you'd be fed up with the manager and how it was difficult to put a date/time/reason on it, but no, it turns into a thread about name calling which isnt contributing to the friggin' debate - why not put across your opinions as everyone else is and argue your point before grouping people together into 2 categories in a condescending way??
The squad just doesn't want to play, only the professionalism of a few remains on show. They appear very pissed off and seem to be saying stuff the lot of you. I don't know why and without new money for strikers, I can't see how it's going to change. I will just continue to try and get tickets for Brighton and I have no idea why.
Lol, stilladdicted ! Soton, Brighton, Yeovil, here we come .....ready or not !
I agree with those who are questioning the attitude of the squad at the moment...What has changed since , say, Leeds ? There's an oft heard comment that " there must be something going on behind the scenes " that might explain the malaise. A falling out, maybe or a dressing room split ?
One respected Addick was overheard yesterday in the Gents' bemoaning the fact that there are too many prima donnas in the side . Is this part of our problem , and if so, isn't it management's job to nip it in the bud ? McLeod's seeming lack of respect plus the "elbow" incident which I missed yesterday should definitely be dealt with by Parky , sooner rather than later.
I feel a "team build" weekend coming on when we have a free one on 28th . But it's likely to be in Margate rather than Marbella.....

Not sure who that is supposed to be directed at, though as an outsider to it, the thread does actually seem to have been conducted in a far more civil way than many on here, so (without really being able to see the specific items that are troubling you) I think you are being rather sensitive. A reasonable - if clearly uncomfortable question (maybe that's the problem?) was asked - and (some) people made an attempt to answer it honestly; tough times bring tough issues though and I can't see anything wrong with that. For me I'm genuinely interested to find out what would change the minds of the optimistic, in the light of what we've seen recently. In the same way as myself, and many others, were baffled by why some people seemed to think it was all going to be OK last season when it seemed very apparent to many of us that we were plainly doomed from the minute we didn't get a permanent manager. It is a genuine interest in the logic behind differing opinions and a preparedness - on my part at least - to have my own views changed by that. An alien concept on this site, to be fair.
Anyways, simple answer from me - if the performances irrespective of league position has not improved to the extent that I think there is some hope of Parky turning the bus around before the next transfer window opens, then we need a new driver. But I guess that doesn't count for anything as - like managers at all professional clubs Parky will be judged on results.
[cite]RodneyCharltonTrotta[/cite]Serious question, I have tried to keep faith in the current board and even parkinson this season even though i wanted him replaced in the summer. However after our past few games and yesterday it has confirmed to me that it aint working.
Lots of posts saying to keep faith in him and board but seriously what would it take for you if you are one of them defending the current regime to change your opinion and want a change of personnel at management and possibly board level?
Not getting promoted this season
Not getting promoted next?
What?
I was one of those that wasn't anxious to dump him in the summer, believing that he deserved a shot with a proper re-season and his own players brought in.
I think Parky has some serious issues that need addressing now; not least lack of chance creation and lack of a decent striker.
The immediate period is going to be a serious test of his mettle.
I wouldn't set a date or target as to when I would start thinking he should go, but If he can't reverse this malaise and we start to slide down the table I might start to question my judgement.
If it really does go pear shaped I would hope the board would act with a bit more haste than they did with Pardew.
For what it's worth I wouldn't be rushing to sack him right now.
I do believe patience amongst the fans is virtually non-existent; so Parky needs to shake things up sooner rather than later or risk the fans forcing the boards hand.

I think this has been an unusually grown up thread - frank and fair exchanges of opinion, in general. Some of the other threads today, however, have been littered with unecessary sarcasm, snide comments and name calling - so maybe a case of right point, wrong thread.
What puzzles me is how some people can be so certain in their views. How do we really know what has been going on, why, for example, did Parky suddenly get a new contract? There are odd stray comments from former players such as Danny Mills that he was messed around by Charlton, heard quite a few whispers that ex staff members were treated with disdain. Were the players promised extra goodies when the takeover went through, did they set out with enthusiasm dreaming of better financial times ahead? We've never actually heard the ex-managers viewpoints, we've not received any explanations as to the past decsions that were made. When I've listened to what Parky says, it all seems very reasonable. I've believed people when they've talked about players with the wrong attitude, but as soon as they leave, we appear to spawn another crop. I don't have any particular faith in anyone, just a growing list of unanswered questions.

Footballers are all such sensitive souls ... even an indication that they might be criticised has them throwing their toys out of the pram. Pathetic.
yeah, i guess i posted that on the wrong thread. I've just read another one where people are attacking each other. it seams you can't put your point across without being pigeon holed into a 'brigade' of either rose tinted/blinkered or realist or whatever name they're calling it this hour.
the question on this thread was "what would it take to make those who believed in parky change their minds"
the responses on this thread and others are explaining that its not that easy to answer and suggest there isn't a set deadline in anyones mind, but that gets criticised by those that perhaps are already fed up with parky and don't have an idea of who should replace him and therefore think those who are daring to suggest they come up with a name have no right to do so. its going round in circles, and i think people need to just understand that not everyone sees it the same and no one is wrong or right.
my g'dad just rang me ranting for 20 mins about how all our players go off and play elsewhere better and how something is wrong at the core of cafc. now whilst he may be right, he is forgetting that we have players with us that have 'failed' elsewhere - richardson for example perhaps? and many others over the years, its just we aren't focussing on the positives, its easier to focus on 'where its gone wrong'
anyway, i told myself to stay away from here yesterday and didn't so its no wonder i got wound up!
bring on the humilation at 7.45 tmrw night when we get knocked out of our 2nd cup competition in a week! hurrah!
Don't think there is an easy answer to this seeing as the running of the club has remained a mystery for months now.Would be a good question to put to Murray when he finally sticks his head out of the bunker. He is the only one that knows the constraints of the club at this moment in time it would seem.

Huddersfield at home, 17th October, 3 games ago.
Yup, bloody good game and showed a lot of desire to compete ... although sadly lacking yesterday.
Far too many players had an off-day yesterday and it has to be partially down to overconfidence and lack of rspect for the opposition.

Adkins might also be an answer at this level, but once again, what about at Championship level ? One season and relegated.
Also, they are both Northeners and often they don't settle well down South like a lot of players , O'Connell, Redfearn, Gray.
I agree with those who are questioning the attitude of the squad at the moment...What has changed since , say, Leeds ? There's an oft heard comment that " there must be something going on behind the scenes " that might explain the malaise. A falling out, maybe or a dressing room split ?
