It's an embarrassing result and a blight on the proud history of our club. But it's been on the cards for many weeks. Perhaps if people had expressed their concern of our poor recent form, instead of pretending everything was fine, we're second in the table, etc etc, then the board may have taken heed and not extended Parky's contract. The big question now is how do we turn this around? What we need is a new face or two to come into the team and have a major impact. We need to start playing some football, passing, movement, shots on goal. Those things build confidence and get the crowd behind the team. Perhaps a new strike force of Mooney/Mckenzie. We have to find a strike partnership. Put Basey wide left and move Bailey into the middle where he may start creating chances. Let Basey put in some decent crosses for the strikers. We need a big lift and we need it quickly.

another cup run. another new low.
to lose to a team so far down the football pyramid that they play in a regionalised league is bad.
to have it live on television for the nation to see makes it even worse.
to watch it in a pub full of millwall singing 'green army'. it can't get any worse. (can it?)

Good post. Everybody who was saying that we should stick with the same tactics and 11 when the wheels were starting to loosen near the end of our good run, was going through an exercise of sticking their heads in the sand. Good managers in all walks of life - make changes before the fite hits the shan. They don't wait until it's splattered all around the room and then try to mop it up with a kleenex.
[cite]Posted By: The Prince-e-Paul[/cite]i dont think i was this disappointed when we lost at wembley. i was trying to tell my girlfriend when she got in from work how bad a result it was and i used the analogy of Barcelona being beaten by her team Malmö FF. she thought about it for a moment then said 'no its much worse than that' i then realised that Malmö have been to a european cup final and lost, and weve been to Blue Square North team and lost! i'm trying to laugh it off, but right now it would be easier to laugh off a dose of the clap.
I was explaining to my wife that it's our worst ever result and she simply replied "I guessed it was bad because of all the swearing going on!"
After kicking the cat---- then realising we dont have one, i think we lost becaue dont have a Plan B. . . . . . . . . or a plan A
of course the FA Cup matters. AFKA if people cant get the bollox ache after loosing to a none league team for the first time ever when can they ? No one is coming over the hill to save us. The players dont give a shit --- its a job-- they get paid--- they go home.
At least we've got a ground to burn down! Here are ten more supposed reasons to be cheerful this morning :
1) We're still second
2) Parky's new contract has given us much needed stability
3) As the manager has got no money he's doing a great job under difficult circumstances
4) Proof of that is that he's identified more lovely loanees in every position, should we get further injuries
5) Our strikers would score if we played to their strengths
6) The injuries to Elliot and Richardson have hit us hard and we'll be fine when they're fit again
7) Leeds will have their sticky spell soon, so better for us to get ours out of the way now
8) The FA cup doesn't matter so we can now concentrate on promotion
9) Semedo and Racon are the best mid-field pairing in the division (this one probably needs FACT after it)
10) There are only five months to go until the cricket season
One and ten are undeniably true. The rest you can count your score and guage what colour spectacles you wear, from crack-of-doom black to dazzling crimson!
the thing that gets me the most is we are going to slide down this league like a hot knife through butter and Parky has been given a contract extension.
Surely the time for that was after earning promotion give him something to aim for, we seem to be rewarding a few good results not the right idea.
1st bit of bad mngmt under the new regieme in my opinion.
I like the bloke but he has not got what it takes imo to do anymore than he is currently doing.
I am embarssed by yesterday, i am a bit pissed off about yesterday but i will also look at it as these things happen, many a good team has been beaten by a really shit one we are no different.
The Dagenham and Redbridge result was as bad as this although we scraped through in my opinion
I find myself laughing at the abuse i am getting this morning in work (not that i think the result was funny)
N w V wanted it more end of our boys got taught a valuable lesson yesterday.
(players) That they are not as good as they think they are.
Parky got found out as a team motivator he is not as good as he thinks he is.
The board will have seen that Parky is not the man they thought he was all a bit too late but there we are and if they dont ( he aint get on with it you will see soon enough).
If a team wants to go up and the fans want the same a result like this can do one of two things it can make us or break us
my opinion is that it will break us the fans will turn on the team the players will turn on the fans the mgr will look to blame individuals and not himself or the team as a whole.
me i have been quietly scared for a while now my fear is more obvious
