[cite]Posted By: youtube addick[/cite]Racons class
Yeah but what class is the question. He hasn't played well for ages and everyone was saying it was because he's semedo wasn't playing. Well now he is and he was still tripe. Tell me what he's done to be such class????
I wouldn't call anyone a disgrace on the back of one game. Today was poor and extremely disappointing, but "disgrace" - well I just wish people would stop over-reacting because it makes it all the more difficult to find the right word when something really is a disgrace. As far as I can tell today, the only thing that was truly disgraceful was McLeod's elbow.
Its funny how people still think Racon, Sam, Semedo and bailey are still such class. If you have 4 players in the midfield that are that good then you boss games. When was the last time that 4 bossed a football match. Get your heads out of your a**e's and see that they aint class.

You forgot to mention Jonjo in your rant Uncle...
Actually i never forgot anything. he has been dropped for the prvious 3 games and if i'm not mistaken he's not actually been in that midfield 4 has he? Why do you want to make this about Jonjo? I never said he was class did i ?
they should all be ashamed of themselves no arsehole no battling qualities im fed up with being nice old charlton when are we gonna show some passion and bollocks.

They did well earlier in the season but have fallen away badly.
If I was a cynical old git I might think that they've arranged their January moves elsewhere!

Absolutely agree, Uncle. People go on about our midfield (best in the league blah blah) but they have been very poor for the last six weeks. They are as feeble as most of the rest of the team. Creaky, slow defence, missing midfield and no strikers who can score. Makes ya proud, don't it?
Semedo is always going to be limited in what he can do. Probably just as good as any player in this league at his job, and some in the Championship, but that doesn't matter when the team can't keep the ball and attack.
Racon isn't playing like he can. Seems to be one of those players who will look good when he's used occasionally, work hard to get in the team. Now we can't really drop him, he's not playing like he was.
[cite]Posted By: Stone[/cite]Today was crying out for Spring at half-time and once more Perky failed to see what everyone else was watching.
Crying out for Spring? Really? I'm sure he'd have done ok, but would he really have changed the game?

I can imagine if any of them do go, we'll hear about them doing well at other clubs, in a higher division, in a better team. Just like Ambrose, Iwelumo, McCarthy etc all are now, all players who had a lot of criticism while they were here.
They might not be truly class, but they're a lot better than they showed they are today.

The point being he couldn't have done any worse could he? Or anyone else that we could have used in there tbh.
Think some of the language here is a bit intemperate. But the comparison in the first post of this thread was spot on because watching Semedo and Racon today I had exactly the same flash back. It really was like watching Holland and Hughes - only worse. H & H were lightweight, but at least they were skilful. I didn't really see any backbone or any skill from R & S today.
Semedo has been a shadow of his old self since coming back from injury, but something has gone badly wrong with the pair of them. Form comes and goes and who knows the whys and wherefores of its vagaries. But it is odd that both S & R should lose it so badly at the same time - especially as they were so excellent as a partnership at the start of the season.
I think Uncle's post is a bit OTT and clearly born of frustration at Shelvey not playing recently. But given what we served up at Gillingham and Carlisle without the lad, then I have to say his frustration is entirely understandable.
But nobody could have saved us today, I feel. Frankly 3-0 would not have flattered Northwich. We got off rather lightly, didn't we?
You are spot on Len. I reckon at least two of that four will be gone in January, almost certainly to Championship teams. We have to realise that we are still in serious financial difficulties and any good offers will probably be snapped up. Parky has absolutely no money to invest, so those who are so keen to get rid of him really need to ask themselves who in their right mind would want to replace him.

Well that's very different to the game 'crying out' for him. Anyway, I know what you mean, just got the impression you were suggesting Spring would have changed the game rather than just not doing any worse.

Jonjo needed the break, but other than a few good touches he was poor today. Good of him to not forget about swapping shirts with his opponent although traditionally I think that's best left to full-time.
Racon etc are good players, but today we weren't up for it and Northwich were - we too slow to react to 50-50 balls and failed to impose ourselves on the game. Also we have to bear in mind that with a small squad our players aen't getting much of a break. Bailey and Sam have played with injuries, Semedo is just back from a lay-off and Racon just looked out of sorts today. Collectively they've played better and will again. A minor consolation from today is that we've given our squad a couple of matches off to rest.
They aint been up for it for ages . And what a shame he showed a bit of aggression instead of rolling over like a little puppy, like your little midfield stars. Still like you say they can have their little rest now and maybe have another good performance before January
It is not just todays game that bother me but the overall trend which is spiralling downwards. two wins in ten games now, Away form appalling, one pen and one own goal in 495 minutes since Norwich first half, this isn't just a wobble as much as I want it to be!

No your right its not just a wobble its more like the wheels are coming off. But still as long as we have the best midfield 4 in the league we'll be ok.
Racon, Sam, Semedo & Bailey all looked like players who thought simply turning up would be good enough to win, their faces looked that way in the tunnel on the way out to the pitch. Racon seemed to suddenly realise the shit we were in after about 92 mins when he did his first useful thing of the game and beat someone then actually passed it to a red shirt! Sam was summed up in the second half when he just ran straight out of play with the ball and couldn't stop smiling straight into the camera!
I think we're getting our wires crossed here....we DO have the best midfield in the division, which is the frustrating thing........we just don't play like it!
My take on Racon is that he is class when he fancies it. He went to Brighton on loan a couple os seasons ago. He was great for the first few games and then he stopped. I just think that's where he is now. Racons dipped level has not improved since Semedo has returned. Bailey's adventurous side has been stiffled by the need to hold whilst Youga gets forward. The player who has been least effect in recent games, in my opinion is Sam. He is a shadow of the player we saw against Tranmere and Brentford. As for Jonjo, well he should never have.been dropped. He is the one player in our team capable of making something happen.

Bloody glad I dint go in the end also....
