Yep, with the Royal Artillery up the road in Woolwich, we should be getting involved IMO......Airman, I have contacts within the RA if the club are interested?
whispered Airman, will let you know a reply when he comes back to me, but please remember if it's a non starter, it may not necessarily be Rick's call on the matter.
I know a supporter who decided not to buy a season ticket this season as she & her son get a freebie via their school in New Eltham for most home matches.....
Non purchase of a ST was NOT due to financial restraints but because she knew she couldn't attend some matches.

The club i feel should show there support for the troops
Instead of giving away tickets to the local chavs.
Give them to the troops and let us show our appreciation for all that they do for us
Agree with this 100% rather than those idiots that caused problems at Gills getting tickets. These guys in the arm forces deserve them far more than they do but would you get a high enough demand do we think?
Agree 100%.......taking into consideration how the clubs bangs on about the local community how about giving something to the troops at the Woolwich Barracks
Why? Don't they get paid enough to buy a ticket? If offered to injured troops, why not injured police, paramedics, firefighters etc? Why not teachers, nurses and other public servants assaulted by the public in the course of their work?

"Most home matches" - I really doubt that's true. We rotate the tickets for schools around six different boroughs, including NWK. We go to different primary schools within each borough each time, so no school gets tickets more than twice in the season.
The community scheme gets an allocation for each match, which it has to justify by scheme/group.
If a school in New Eltham gets tickets for most matches, we don't know about it - and all the individual comps are signed out.
very very poor comment on the day of another five lost in Afghanistan...
remind me how many teachers run the risk of death whilst exercising their duties?

Great idea. I remember when I was 'in greens' and on producing my MOD 90 ID card the shop manager gave me a free Charlton top. It almost made spending 9 months in hot, dusty, smelly hellhole and getting paid less than £1.80 an hour worth while.

Bit harsh........and i think you will find that they dont get paid a huge amount.........secondly what these guys and girls do for our country is fantastic, never knowing what is around the corner, what situation they may face next, also take into consideration there families, i can never understand how anyone can put up an arguement why we shouldnt give to our troops

FFS.
What is it with some people on here. Always points scoring.
Tell you what, give me a list of all the above who are shot at or face IED everyday whilst they are at work and I'll buy the lot of them a ticket for the next home game.

might be something for the community scheme rather than plc though - they always get more tickets than they know what to do with.
