Left home at 6.00 am home at 01.00 am, 9 trains ( chesseyjet), 2 buses, serval beers and 1 singapore noodles. Sunday, took the dogout it pissed down, then back to DIY that I should have finished with the week I took off.
Was up at 4.15, got the first train out of Erith at 5.13. Tube from London bridge to Kings Cross, just before 6. Breekie at Kings Cross, then train out of Kings Cross at 7. Arrived at Newcastle at 10.35 (30 mins late). Pint in the station bar at Newcastle. Train from Newcastle to Carlisle at 11.22. Arrived at Carlisle town centre at 1.
Direct train from Carlisle back to Kings Cross, just after 6.30pm. Back in Kings cross just after 11. Back indoors just after 12.30.
Got up at 5.30am got the 06.48 from new eltham, got the 08.30 from euston which arrived just after 12.00 then a few light ales. After the game a few more beers then the 18.33 train back to Kings Cross with beers and kebab and i arrived back in New eltham around midnight.
Strolled down the road at 10.15, got 10.40 train, arrived Carlisle 11.45 in time for lunch and a few beers. More beers and a nice Italian afterwards, then caught 8.15 back, home indoors by 9.45. A good day out apart from the football....
[cite]Posted By: allez les addicks[/cite]i stayed in newcastle for a night out after the match. It's fair to say the night was more successful than the game
Friday - left at 9.50am stopped at Warwick at 11.40am. Absolute doddle of a drive nothing on M25 or M40. Left Warwick at 12.20, heavy traffic at M5/M6 junction and from thereon in Chaos. Detoured onto A50 (thoruhg Northwich/Knutsford) because of 28 mile tailbacks on M6, back on M6 only to hit a 12 mile tailback north of M62 turn. Detoured, only to have to turn round as there was a fatal smash on detoured route - so back on M6. More roadworks at Lancaster. Hit Windemere at 6.30pm - 3 hours later than expected.
Sunday - left at 11.45am, heavy flooding at Windemere with all those Northern wooses taking ages to go through puddles - took an hour just to get onto M6. Held up at Lancaster road works for half an hour, same problems at as on the way up with a 23 mile tailback junction 21A to 17, so detoured onto A50 again problems North of Birmingham, hold ups on M25. Back home at 7.30pm. 2 hours later than expected.
785 miles driven. Total of over 14 hours in the car just to watch McLoed trudge off like a sulking kid. My knowledge of NE roads is improving though.
strolled down to the train station for 12, one hour on the train and 10 minutes from the train station to the ground. sweet journey, game a nightmare though.

That kebab shop was the best in the world, quality little bird behind the counter too.................
Travelled to Lancaster from Shropshire at 8am. Got the train from lancaster to Carlisle getting in for about 1.30pm . The journey back was horrendous due to sitting with very cheerful carlisle fans on the train, both the M6 and the M56 being closed and general post match pissedoffedness.
Left Bournemouth via train at 6.25 to meet friends travelling by car at Oxford. Oxford to Carlisle was approx 4 and a half hours on the road not to mention the tedious amount of 50 mph limit roadworks on the M40/M6.
Not quite sure what I made of Carlisle itself, though if were due up there again next season I won't be bothering. Nightlife looked pretty non-existent.
For some reason I'm more pissed off with the result now that I was Saturday night...
Left home 6:45. Day started badly, pouring rain, delayed trains and bumped into a group of Leeds fans getting the train from Peterbough. Journey back was better 18.33 from Carlisle but managed to bump into the same Leeds fans on the Peterbough to Huntingdon train. Back home for 23:00, beer and fall asleep in front of MOTD.
lefythome 4am drove up arrived carlisle 10.30 ..big brekkie in spoons first beer...threw bag in room at ibys 12 met train lads in spoons drank there and rugby club to 2.55 waved cheerio to lads going up to dundee after few beers after game then saw carlisle finest for 4 hours getting drunk but great night left 2.30 took 8 hours to drive home .....good weekend shame game ruined it..........guess lads going to dundee still travelling and only one half !!

Left home at 1.15pm, arrived at ground at 2.30, left ground at 4.45 and home by 6 to feed the pigs in the dark and put the chickens to bed! Out to pub and try and forget a crap game.
Stayed at my brothers in grantham Friday and left at 0700 hrs on the Saturday. Arrived in Carlisle around 1130 ( due to someone being ill). Absolutely fantastic night in Carlisle getting back at 0330 hrs. Left there at 10 and had a horrendus jpurney back which took NINE AND A HALF HOURS.............
Got the coach from Bromley N which left at 6.30, went via Well Hall and Charlton, got into Carlisle at 2.25.
Back to Bromley at just gone midnight.
Enjoyed the coach journey, films on the TV, music on the iPod etc. And i was sat next to an Israeli journo who supports CAFC but was writing a piece on why people would want to travel so far to watch League 1 football. I imagine he's none the wiser after that game...
Left home at 8am, picked mate up in Barnehurst at 8.30 and had time for a MacDonalds breakfast before filling up for petrol and some grub for lunch at the local Tesco's before finally heading off by 9am.
M25, M1.........bit of traffic on here and heard of an accident around junc 3/4 of M6 so decided to stay on M1 and cut across the A50, rejoining M6 at Stoke.........nose to tail from here until Manchester and just avoided a couple of "fender-benders" . More traffic and roadworks around lancaster but finally arrived at the ground at 2.30pm - parked up on the side of the road and 10 mins later inside the ground.
(the game speaks for itself)
Back to the car by 5.15pm and set off for the 340 miles home. Traffic not too bad but endless sets of 50 mph roadwork restrictions without anything appearing to be done. Decided we wanted something better than an expensive meal at a service station so did a quick detour off the M6 at West Brom to a chippy we found that way once (cup replay) where they cook the fish & chips in an orangy/ yellow batter that makes it all look radio-active ! - This was around 9pm and then back on the M6 for a 2hr burst home........crossing the Dartford Bridge at 11.15pm and home before midnight !

That would make an interesting read - where's his article going to be published?
Me and the sprog retraced our steps from 23 years ago, Metro to Brown Bottle City, got the 9:45 685 slowcoach to Carlisle, first through the door of the Rugby club, 6 pints and a grotty cheesburger later we were in fine fettle and giving it large with all the yobs at the back, slept most of the way home, had a few snakeys in the Blue Bell by 8:00pm rounded off with a chicken and king prawn curry for her indoors for good measure, great day out, apart from the result of course...
Got the 5.07 from Eastbourne to Haywards Heath Then to London Bridge and tube to Euston and some breakfast, Then the 8.30 to Carlisle arriving at 12 and enjoyed some good cheep beer with a lot of locals dressed up like bettlejuice!! Got the 6.33 back via newcastle along with a cople of creats of bud, getting back to kings cross just after 11 and the tube back to victoria to get the last train out back to eastbourne, Walked through my door at 2 in the morning. 22 hour day 800 miles and a defet but a fantastic day out with the boys.
