As for the game it is only our second defeat in the league and we may be in the middle of a blip, but hopefully we will come good again quickly. I do worry though that the much maligned 451 is still our best system, it got us results. We do need a real handful upfront though for it to work or even a fit Burton, which we are lacking at the moment.
Sam needs a rest in my opinion. But worry not there is a long way to go and I for one would have taken second (quick edit after noticing the results posted above) at this stage before the start of the season.
Listened to match on CAFC player and it sounded as tough we had no plan. Not sure if thats right or not, but they seemed up for it and we didn't. Not shutting down players is a basic mistake. Anyway with Millwall getting a late winner we are still 2nd but something needs to change or we could be going even further backwards. Agree with Seth should we go back to 4-5-1? Whatever the right thing is........Parky needs to find it....... and soon.
Credit to the fans that made the trip, not supplied with a good enough performance or result there. 4-5-1 next week, Shelvey in McLeod out and Mooney in for Burton, give Burton a well needed rest.
I don't know why we've given Parky an extension on his contract - if we should have learnt anything over the last few years it's not to give managers too long a contract. If we need to get rid of the manager it now means another pay-out. Parky can now put his feet up while we get served up a load of old tosh.
Jimmy .... Parky got an extension to his contract of only 1 year.
All I can say is remember the doom and gloom of the summer? most people on this site would of taken being second at this point. We've got points on the board, we are in the promotion places and just because we have a little glitch in form people are back in the duldrums. The position gives us automatic promotion and we are not even playing that well......surely that's a good thing?
Couple of points here and there, will tee it up for Millwall to lord it over us and give us a right thrashing and go above us on their unstoppable run to the championship. Great! How many points to safety?
We are only second because we played virtually the worst 6 teams before everyone else and because at the time we had a fit striker. Now we're slipping. Remember that we had built up quite a lead - by Christmas we'll be out the top 6.

So much knee jerk blame culture response.
None of us were there.
I didn't need to be there today. I'm basing that on what I saw last week and it's not good enough . He's got the players to be doing a better job.

do me a favour that smells of 2 seasons ago when the rose tinted kept saying we were at least 5th and we ended up no where,it's plain to see as asquad we aint strong enough.I don't know how this ikeme played today, but i am not happy that Randolph was not given his opportunity, tells him he is not rated and if aint done nothing wrong imo.

;o)
As I said to Large I don't feel I can comment on performances because I don't see the games so I just participate in non-football threads. Having seen them last week I feel I have the right to say something. If I agree with them it must be bad because it's very rare that all 3 of us agree.
We're going through a rough patch - every team will go through one at some point (even Leeds!). It's all about how we respond. For me, we should go back to basics, 4-5-1, Shelvy, Wags and Mooney in with Deon and Sam rested and McLeod prosecuted under the trade descriptions act.
Oh, and Randolph in for this new lad. He's now let in 9 goals against Carlisle in two games.
[cite]Posted By: Bangkok Dave[/cite]
[cite]Posted By: Nadou[/cite]I can't understand how people can be optimistic after the way we've played since the Colchester game.
because we are second and have lost only twice this season......
But since the Colchester game we have played football that is middle of the table at best. We are only second thanks to a great start to the season. I repeat, our current form does not give grounds for optimism.

Lots of references to our chances not taken.
From what I saw last week it will be a VERY long season.
A bad day ay the office, but worse things happen at sea.

Yup!
Because it doesn't involve McLeod who is shit.
We also had a fit Burton
I do however have one criticism - Parky dont get sent off FFS!
1st time I've ever agreed with you
Ha ha ha That's amazingly positive from you BFR and I agree entirely!
Aye that is what I meant but he is clearly feeling the injury and needs a rest, why bring in Mooney at all if he is not going to start?

A good result against MK Dons will put our minds at rest again ... but if we don't get one, then we move down at least one place and the pack closes.
Let's relax instead in the cup(s) next week ;-) Twice on telly ... gulp! ;-)

Because there is a long way to go and we have a brilliant midfield, in comparison to the rest of this division. A few tweaks and we will be fine.

Come back and see a game. I don't care where we stand in the league because playing like that means that we won't be there long.
