[cite]Posted By: WSS[/cite]You say all this but we are still the 4th highest scorers in the League ahead of both Leeds with the great Fernando Beckford and Bristol Rovers who have Pele in their team.
Let's all look forward to finishing 4th then.
Thats exactly my point. It's not how it works does it?
Your point presumably is that it is good to be among the higher goal scorers in any League. I can't argue with that ... but are you implying that, by being the 4th highest, we can expect to finish in the top two? If so, your logic escapes me.
How about we aim to be the highest goal scorers (in the words of Brian Clough "in the top one")? That might give us an even better chance of finishing in one of the automatic promotion places ... although it clearly depends on more than that. It would put us at a bit of an advantage, though.
Just think .... that 0-0 draw with Oldham that Parkinson was "pleased with" might have turned into a win.
Dave - your "Let's all look forward to finishing 4th then" post in response to us being the 4th highest scorers suggested that league position is determined only by goals scored, which isn't the case. It is possible to finish in the top 2 by scoring the 4th most goals in the league, as demonstrated by us being in the top 2 positions at the moment.

Yes, agreed ... it is possible to finish in the top two by being the 4th highest scorers. It is also possible to be relegated by being the 4th highest scorers, although much less likely.
All things are possible but, if we were the highest scorers, the chances of finishing in the top two are much higher.
Can't believe we are arguing about the relative merits of scoring more goals, but that's football, I guess.
