My baptism of fire with an album of two halves was Todd Rundgren's Initiation. The first side contains one of my favourite of all his songs, Fair Warning. Then you flip the vinyl over (in old money), and oh man... If you've managed to get through his gruelling, 35-minute instrumental synth experiment, A Treatise On Cosmic Fire, then you can cope with anything!

‘Nebraska’ and ‘Born to Run’ are my favourite albums by him. Closely followed by, ‘The ghost of Tom Joad’ and ‘The River’.
