My baptism of fire with an album of two halves was Todd Rundgren's Initiation. The first side contains one of my favourite of all his songs, Fair Warning. Then you flip the vinyl over (in old money), and oh man... If you've managed to get through his gruelling, 35-minute instrumental synth experiment, A Treatise On Cosmic Fire, then you can cope with anything!
yep. playing it again today. ‘Nebraska’ and ‘Born to Run’ are my favourite albums by him. Closely followed by, ‘The ghost of Tom Joad’ and ‘The River’.
Driving to work with The Arkells, Michigan Left, a little midday revitalizaton with Oscar Peterson's Greatest Hits, and "cleansed" tonight with Glenn Gould's Goldberg Variations, followed by a little Angela Hewitt playing Couperin...! (LOL - an all Canadian line-up today..)
Been having a bit of a metal renaissance recently, stuff like Nile, Behemoth, Pantera, Hatebreed, Metallica and Enslaved. Back with the dance music next week though, seeing Simian Mobile Disco.
