I woke this LP out of its hibernation this evening. Am glad I did. It has been a favourite of mine for 35 years.
The Chameleons - What Does Anything Mean? Basically(1985)
From Wikipedia: Known for their atmospheric, guitar-based sound, the Chameleons are regarded as one of the most underrated Manchester bands of the 1980s. They did not attain the commercial success of other groups from the Manchester scene but developed a cult following.

Saw 'soul pioneers' Kokomo at the Half Moon, Putney, twice last week. I had their album in the mid seventies, and was relieved to see they had seven of the original members on stage. They were great imvho. They played this Bobby Womack song (was also on the album). They've toured with the Average White Band during various reformations. https://youtu.be/sCqkibt0WQc
Includes a stunning version of What a Wonderful World
went to my uncle's funeral last week in Cheltenham .. no hymns for old Stan (died aged 94) .. What a Wonderful World (Louis A version) was his song of choice .. the intro/outro music was some French accordion stuff .. very original ((:>)

Also another posthumous album ‘... Ya Know’, which is well worth a listen.

Also well worth picking up the Dreams in Celluloid compilation, and there’s a Peel Sessions compilation too.
The two cd reissue of Script of the Bridge includes a live show from 1983 which is very good.
