Over two thousand odd Addicks will be making the short journey to the “Charlton Shirt Sponsers Priestfield Stadium” this Saturday to try and record back to back league wins for the first time since the Walsall-Tranmere double back in August.
And it’s not going to be easy. Not only is this a local derby, you can add a pinch of Dicksongate and a splash of ScallyParky sauce to create what could be a hostile and potentially explosive atmosphere. Add to that the fact that the Jills are 5th in the “Home Table”, only losing one game and being the joint 3nd highest scorers at home, Charlton are going to really have to be at their best to come away with maximum points.
And for probably the first time this season, we are not sure what team or formation Parky is likely to put out. Does he stick with the 4-4-2 that worked out well against Huddersfield last Saturday, or does he revert back to the 4-5-1 due to us being away? Interesting one.
One thing that is almost certain is that Jose Vitor Semedo will slot back into the midfield at the expense of Matty Spring; the leaping Salmon Sodje will undoubtedly retain his place in central defence as well. Maybe there is also a case for Scott Wagstaff to be given a chance over the knackered/injured Sam.
However, the only real decisions it seems for Parky are: McLeod or Shelvey? 4-4-2 or 4-5-1?
Anyway, the weather is expected to be atrocious, so remember your waterproofs – let’s hope the game does not turn into a damp squib.
Over to you guys.

Wouldn't change the 4-4-2 , either, so McLeod over Shelvey.
Intrigued by WSS's suggestion that Wagstaff could come in for Sam. I'm tempted by that, I must say, because I thought Waggy was bloody excellent when he came on v Huddersfield. Sam had run out of puff and the lad's introduction reinvigorated us down that right-hand side, I felt. Hard to call without having seen Sam in training this week. Is he really carrying an inury? If he's genuinely back to full fitness, then he should start. But otherwise , as I say, very tempted by the Waggy option...
My Gillingham friends from Kent CCC reckon we will stuff them, by the way !
I too hope he starts waggy this week, think he deserves a start.
rain? I think Metcheck has the edge on the beeb site and says it will be dry

let's see who's right
Charlton to triumph.
3-0 to us
Don't think the atmosphere will be great in that away end either. Without a roof and a large proportion of the 'siddarn' brigade present you'll do well to be heard.
0-1 Charlton. Burton back on song.
Easy - tell 'em if they win, they won't have to go back as they'll be in a different league next year ;-)
There fans will want to win this game more than any other this year so they and the players will be right up for it. We need to make as much noise as possible to rally our players on, so calling all those in the 'siddarn brigade'. Give standing up and singing you heart out a go. What have to got to lose? Couldnt think of anything worse than sitting in the rain freezing cold and uncomfortable.
Can't argue with that.
alright if you are not 75, had a triple heart bypass five years ago, a knee replacement a year ago and can't stand for too long without falling over. Doesn't stop him singing his heart out though, just does it sitting down. Some consideration needed for others I'm afraid.
same team as last week as well other than Jose in for Matt from the start.
totally agree and being a negative cnut i'll put us down for a 2-0 loss boooooooooooooooooooo
1-3
Reagrding the comment that they'll endeavour to kick us off the park, let's hope we finish the match with 11 men. Jose and JJ will need to keep their tempers.
Can't wait to see how many CAFC jump up in the home end regardless when our late winner slams in!
