this is only the 2nd home league match i have missed since our return to the valley, (missing the other because a family wedding in wales).
for that reason i predict we will be 6-1 down with ten men and 10 minutes to go and will win 8-7.
The boys should be well up for this one. We are due a bit of good fortune in front of goal so 2-1 I reckon. Hope Kelly gets one. He deserves it after his efforts in recent weeks.
Spring has played very well filling in for Semedo, but we couldnt stop winning with him in the team and we need to get back to those ways
Shelvey doesnt cut it for me at the minute, looks tired within the opening 10 minutes, and i just think he needs some time out of the team. Not faulting his ability but i think he has been one of our under performing players in the past couple of games
At leeds, Bailey and Racon switched and i thought they both did very well. Racon likes to cut in a curl shots and i think this is the idea position for him. Only worry is that he may not cover Youga as much as Bailey does
Addicks to keep Terriers on tight leash
Charlton v Huddersfield
Goal-shy Charlton will be looking to keep up the pressure on table-toppers Leeds this weekend when they host a Huddersfield side who have rediscovered their shooting boots.
The Addicks have gone three league fixtures without hitting the net following last weekend’s 0-0 home draw with Oldham, though they had more than enough chances to claim three points.
Izale McLeod squandered three glorious opportunities, left-back Kelly Youga hit the crossbar with an excellent overhead kick and Spanish centre-half Miguel Llera stung Latics ‘keeper Dean Brill’s palms with a swirling long-range effort.
Despite the Valley stalemate, Phil Parkinson’s men remain in second spot but with only a solitary victory in six games, the ex-Colchester boss will want his team to relocate their spark.
Portuguese dynamo Jose Semedo was a pivotal figure in Athletic’s stunning early-season form and could return to the starting line-up after five games out with a pelvic injury, probably at the expense of the dependable Matt Spring.
While, Deon Burton will put a hernia issue to one side to lead the Reds attack as they clash with Huddersfield for the first time in nearly ten years.
The Terriers roared back into life last week with a 4-0 smashing of Exeter at the Galpharm Stadium.
Lee Clark’s men – who had only scored two goals in their previous five league outings – had Jordan Rhodes to thank for the mauling, with the ex-Ipswich man netting an eight-minute headed hat-trick.
Rhodes now has eight league strikes to his name and has been linked with a January switch to either Stoke or Wolves, but with the Terriers now in a financially secure position, chief executive Nigel Clibbens insists there will be no high-profile exits from West Yorkshire at the turn of the year.
There will be no entrance for striker Robbie Simpson on Saturday, whose persistent thigh strain has failed to clear, so former Gateshead hit-man Lee Novak – who joined Rhodes on the score sheet against Exeter – should keep his starting place.
However, despite their goal-scoring return, Town have only accrued one away victory this term and they are unlikely to add to that tally at the Valley.
A mix of views, win, lose or draw. Huddersfield were scoring for fun earlier in the season including a 7-1 mauling of Brighton and we've gone goal shy of late but our home form is still superb 4 wins out of 6 and unbeaten whilst The Terriers' away form is less than impressive (1 win and 4 defeats from 6) so I think if we get an early goal it'll settle us down and we'll go on from there to win either 2-1 or 2-0.
Mckenzie wont start according to PP interview on OS. Despite being tough on Spring I would bring Semedo back, he was one of the major contributors to our great start to the season. I dont think PP will go 4-4-2 from the start so it will be "as you were", he may then switch for the 2nd Half with Mckenzie/Burton up front. I still think we have enough to beat them so going for 2-0, and hope Sodje comes in for Llera, he seems more solid. Once again wont be there (work) so will be looking for updates on here as usual. Hope all that are going have a good day out.
3-0 McLeod, Bailey & Spring. I'm going for wishful thinking again and hopefully with 2 up front.
I missed the Oldham match and sat at home miserable so I'm happily ignorant of how bad McLeod's efforts were and am hoping my Dad and everyone else was exaggerating.
He needs games and his confidence in front of goal and accuracy will hopefully improve. 4 4 2 and hopefully we'll get back to winning ways.

Verdict: Charlton 2-1 Huddersfield
Wycombe I think but I voted losses when we won so continued the superstition.
I never like to tempt fate where Charlton are concerned!
I still think we have enough to beat them so going for 2-0, and hope Sodje comes in for Llera, he seems more solid.
