  • as mentioned earlier in the thread, im sure there will be loads of seats covered by netting, there always is in the away end at priestfield. It holds about 3200 so not sure whether the rest will be home fans or netting. As far as i was aware they stopped selling season tickets in that stand a couple of years back and just used it for people paying on the day so i cant see why they wouldnt just give us the whole end, unless its a bloody health & safety thing as usual.

Then they've learnt a valuable lesson in being quick off the mark on the day tickets become eligible to them. There were over 700 left this morning,

I was in lesson at college at the time, so couldnt phone up, then I told my dad to phone up at 10 cos it would sell out but he wouldnt believe me

    are you oohaah's son?

No and i wouldnt wanna be either.

And tbf, it is partly the ticket offices fault for not saying something about needing 2 away purchase history for the local games
  • The netting was easily removed at Norwich, so there's the answer
  • [cite]Posted By: Big C[/cite]so i cant see why they wouldnt just give us the whole end, unless its a bloody health & safety thing as usual.
I think the main reason is that Scally is a prat

    definately
  • It's really not the ticket office's fault.

The rules were fair and simple.

[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]I think the Club had it spot on. They have to reward VG as it's part of the reason fans sign up and they had to reward those who have already been away this season, as long as both were season ticket holders. Then it's other season ticket holders, who havn't been away yet this season and those that can prove they have been to two away games this season. I fail to see why a season ticket holder who hasn't been away yet this season but wants to go to Gillingham because it is a nice and easy trip should get priority over someone who has been to say Hartlepool and Tranmere because they could for whatever reason but are not season ticket holders. Any prioritising would always get someone complaining but to me this seems very fair.

What about non-Valley Gold season ticket holders who had been to one away game...

and what about the season ticket holder who hasn't been to an away game yet but can do so now because his broken leg has healed ? Jeez. If you were that bothered you would have rung at 10am, got someone to ring for you or have got someone to hot foot it to The Valley for when they opened. And if you asked someone to ring and they didn't then shoot them.
  • Why didn't you just show your Charlton Life badge? Always works for me : - )

Seems to me the criteria was clear and fully explained. Is it fair? IMHO yes. people can argue about Valley Gold and should it be two tickets or one but whatever method would leave someone feeling hard done by because they couldn't bring their children etc etc.

The only fault seems to be that con numbers aren't always noted down but maybe that will become more a natural thing for everyone to do.

As people say there are more seats in the away end so now down to GFC to decide to sell them to CAFC fans or to GFC fans.

Stories of many CAFC fans buying in home areas may persuade Kent Police to make a decision for them.
  • Got my tickets, but many clubs have a system where all ticket history is logged onto a computer or even a type of credit card - West Ham do this with a points system - thought Charlton could have done this with the Red Card scheme they introduced a few years back but that seems to have been completely pointless.
  • If you didn't get a ticket you can't blame anyone else but yourself if you were that desperate for one you would have rang up 10 am sharp or even better gone to the ground, I managed to get 4 tickets from sheffield!

[cite]Posted By: NathanPrior[/cite]I feel if I do go in the home end, i'll end up getting chucked out, ah well, worth it though

im pretty sure there will be a fair few being chucked out at this. the stewards down there are some of the worst in the world! unless our whole end are standing they will eject small pockets of people trying to stand at the back. Ive seen it happen there loads. Ive been kicked out of there before and those that know me will confirm I'm a lover not a fighter!

At least you'll stay dry. The rest will be soaking wet. Torrential rain is forecast. ;-)

Rain im not bothered by, im more concerned that the thing will collapse! Everytime i go past it i think '3000 fans jumping up and down (on what basically is scaffolding) is asking for a disaster!'
  • Errrrrrrr........probably not the right time to say this, but, I went down last week with our (2) Season Tickets and bought 4:
We've only been to 1 Away game..............
    Please don't tell anyone..........
  • Got our two a few weeks ago, and they've arrived in the post - postmark was dated 30th September, arrived at least 10 days later - Royal Mail are w*nkers!
  • home end it is then....
  • [cite]Posted By: Elthamaddick[/cite]home end it is then....

Don't forget a bundle of Valley Express fliers to hand out at half time. :-)
  • I got two tickets the week before last, with ONLY ONE away ticket history.

    where does that fit in??
  • I got slung out of the cup game years ago after only getting in via a bloke who got refused entry and buying his ticket off him.

My crime? I'm not going into it at the moment but it was not worthy of being kicked/carried out

If one stands up all stand up, if one sings, all sing. This is one we have to win

fair play that we have sold out .... obviously a problem where you can't please all of the people all of the time.....
i think there was the same fretting when we played blackpool a couple of years ago , anyone who doesn't go this season will have no problem getting a ticket next season imo .... that doesn't solve the problem for this year tho ....

anyway sorry son (nathan) i misjudged it ... get back to doing your homework ;-)

  • Time to fill the home ends.
  • I ended up in the Rainham end in the cup game, we scored in about 2 mins couldn't have been harder not to jump up.
  • About 10 tickets short, all going in the home end. An allocation of 5,000 probably wouldn't of been enough!
  • If people are planning to go in the home end then they should keep that idea to themseves or the jills will be alert to this and make it harder for cafc fans to get hold of these tickets.
  • Thats a fair point but there on general sale on their website / phone / ticket office in all sections of the ground. They are probably just happy for the money.

I know they are on general sale mate, just thinking that as soon as jills and police find out that loads of cafc are going to buy tickets in the home end tickets sales would become more strict and people that were thinking of going in the home end will end up dissapointed. Time for people to keep ticket plans to themselves i think!

Mate, they are so far away from being in that league of clever it's unreal. Get your tickets but don't go nuts if we score. I have kept my gob shut at Tottenham away when we bashed them, so it's not impossible. Bloody hard, but not impossible
  • Any chance of them allocating us some more? I'm 4 short
  • Try and get tickets in the Brian Moore Stand in the Home bit, am gonna try anyways
  • Tickets were available this morning to season ticket holders (full stop), Valley Gold members (full stop) and people who had been to two away games (full stop) full stop.

I think the criteria were about right for the demand and the reality is if it had been as overwhelming as some people thing we'd have sold out a couple of hours before we did.
