All that falling over trying to get penalties is embarrasing, and Parky was quick to get him off.[/quote]
Bollocks! He'll be very unlucky not to start against Gillingham, He was clearly BARGED off the ball in the second half and should of had a pen, in the first half he had no reason to fall over when put through and we should of had a free kick and their man sent off and Parky clearly took him off for tactical reasons, McLeod could also debateably be given a MOM.
Not been one of his fans but, he played bloody well 2day, ran tirelessly got a goal and constantly created trouble for their back four, held up and ball well and was pulled back when clear twice atleast
It's that Mooney that concerns me it's clear that he's never gonna be a Charlton player. Let's face it he's had enough of a run in the team, but has never scored in a Charlton shirt. Sometimes you just know that a player is not going to do the business. Time for him to go I think ;-)

NSS, that last comment doesn't really add anything useful to the debate, does it? Do you think someone else should start at Gillingham, or what was your view of the penalty shout - some new meaningful content rather than a badly spelled insult and 11 lines of quoting would be nice.
My view of the penalty shout was the guy did brilliantly to get back and got in front of McLeod whose momentum carried him into him meaning that he tumbled over rather than was fouled or dived. The only thing either of them did wrong was when IM appealed but most forwards would

I'd like to think the comment was aimed at valiantphil. his comment deserved it!
Mcleod played better today and game time I'd benefitting him. He was barged but from the whole run preceedibg it he never had it under control sp that probably counted against him.
Will probably start against Gills as parky won't change a winning team unless really necessary
He needed yesterday and when he bags a brace against the gills its gonna be spectacular.... Hes a very charlton player actually, he can lose his way as can the team....
but if he can get 3 or 4 in the next 7 or 8 I think parky may have found his scorer to compliment burton... and not by using the Pardew philosphy of publicly stating he is "my man" .....

I thought he took advantage and allowed himself to tumble theatrically to try and get the penalty. Not something I'm an admirer of, but it seems to be a requirement these days. I remain in the 'he'll come good' camp, but the second shirt off yellow was a bit of ill disciplined behaviour which I reckon Parky and co. will want to sort out. Good game for him and had he not got the yellow, would have been a contender for my MOTM. Just don't understand why anyone thinks OTT critiscism is going to make him play better, which is presumably what we all want to happen?
Mixed bag from him yesterday. Took his goal fairly well, although it was a free header, and his pace and running worried Huddersfield, but there was a liberal smattering of the embarrasing miskicks, misplaced passes and dead end dribbles too. He wants a good slap for that booking as well.
Improving, but a still long way short of the quality front man we'd all love to have leading the line. Stick at it though Izale.
An appalling excuse for a footballer, I know he scored a goal yesterday, however, he cannot hold the ball up, he has no first touch, he cannot read the game, his passing is a joke and he cant cross the ball, he missses easy chances, falls over easier than Drogba, to top it all he gets booked when he scored, joke bloke. I dont want him in a Charlton shirt. One redeeming feature he IS fast, but then so was Rommedahl, but McClot isnt fit to lace Roms boots.
Izale had a fantastic game, the only negative was taking his shirt off again, understood it against Exeter but yesterday was a bit mindless. Every single time he lost the ball he broke his neck to get it back or at least put a fair amount of pressure on the back four, a lot more than Burton i thought and a lot more than I imagine Dickson would ever do.
Ever improving, keep going Izale, my opinion of you is beginning to change.

Oh, Bibble ...... knock it on the head please. I know you're entitled to your opinion, but can't you see the bloke is busting a gut for the team, getting better game on game, and at last scoring goals?
His biggest problem has been lack of confidence, but slowly but surely we're now beginning to see that McLeod can make a fine contribution at this level.
McLeod is on our side.
Shouldn't we back him ....?
Look at the difference growing confidence has made to Youga.

I know what bibble is saying, but in the end, he scored and we always create chances with him in the team. At this level he's useful, even if he is a limited and one dimensional player. Long term he probably won't be the answer, but at the moment we don't have many other options (hopefully Mooney will be a good alternative though) and with games and confidence he'll hopefully cut out some of those mistakes.
Was impressed with McLeod yesterday, did not have his best game against Oldham but did still get into good positions. Yesterday he worked hard, scored a good goal and gave us a real threat up top. At times in recent weeks we have struggled to get men forward when breaking, McLeod always showed for the ball and caused their defence many problems. He may frustrate by going to ground too easy and it was a pathetic booking but he answered the critics, and what more do we want than a good 7-8 out of 10 performance and the winner!
[cite]Posted By: Oggy Red[/cite]Long term isn't the issue at the moment though Sco.
This season, our only issue is to have a sufficiently successful team to get promoted.
And McLeod has already shown, with so far very limited time on the pitch, that he can play his part and make a decent contribution to achieving this.
No point Parkinson building the best Championship quality side to play in the Third Division this season ...... if we miss promotion!
Should we get promoted, next season can look after itself.
I do agree and that's what I was saying. He's doing a job now, even if he does make a lot of mistakes. He allowed us to play balls for him to run onto, something we can't really do with Shelvey behind Burton. Just gives us more options.
From the reports i heard the Clown done good yesterday against a handy team good job he either changed his shoes or thought about using his bonce instead of his feet
I am doing the freebie season mate last one that Coke are gonna sponsor so i need to make the most of it, no singing in the west lower but you can atleast laugh at the away fans,
Fancy the box again soon mate i am in it for Brissle Rovers at home and i will book it again if you fancy.

Scored the winner? Can't comment on the ''diving'' but dropping a player for trying to win a penalty? Never heard of that before.

Now please stop falling over, when someone gets within touching distance. He has done this since the day we signed him.
It is embarassing and says to me that he thinks he is not good enough to hold on to the ball / beat the man / have a decent shot.
If he thought he could then he wouldn't throw himself to the ground at the first opportunity.
poor.
