    Nice one @Stig

Just need an Administrator to change the title and give this thread the promote it deserves.

Expect a couple more debuts on Tuesday too.

Wow. 8 debuts in a match. Is that a record? (Apart from match number 1, obviously!)

Don't know but must be up there.

Wow. 8 debuts in a match. Is that a record? (Apart from match number 1, obviously!)

We had seven debuts against Bournemouth when we won League One

Michael Morrison / Matt Taylor / Rhoys Wiggins / Dale Stephens / Danny Hollands / Paul Hayes ... then Bradley Pritchard came on in the 86th minute to make it seven

Said in the pre match that I reckon there'll be 8 debutants in the game. Fully expecting us to hit 840 by the end of the season

8 is a joint second. Also 9th August 2014, away to Brentford:

    HENDERSON
    BEN HAIM
    BIKEY-AMOUGOU
    BERG GUÐMUNDSSON
    BUYENS
    VETOKELE
    ȚUCUDEAN
    MOUSSA

This was also notable because none of the debutants were born in England.

The all-time record is, and probably always will be 11 (although there is scope for 14 now). 27th August 1921, home to Exeter:

    HUGHES
    MITCHELL*
    GOODMAN*
    DOWLING
    HAMPSON
    DUNN*
    CASTLE
    BAILEY
    HALSE
    GREEN*
    WILSON

Although four of those (*) had previously played for Charlton at non-league level.

The really sad point about football today is that none of the Brentford debutants are still at Charlton just two years later (accepting Vetekele has only left on loan).

Congratulations to Ezri Konsa who becomes the 827th first team Addick tonight at Cheltenham in the League Cup.

He is the 9th debutante this season.

  • Options
Josh Magennis became the 828th first team Addick today v Northampton.

Jordan Botaka came on as sub so is V829.

That makes 11 debuts already this season with possibly more still to come.

Dillon Philips is the only "uncapped" player in the squad so barring an injury or sending off for Rudd no new V numbers tonight.
  • Options
Does the Southampton U23 game count?

Think they have to as they are deemed first class games

Congrats to Dillon Philips who becomes the 830th player to represent the Addicks in a first team game tonight.

And despite what people might say, and I'd agree, it is classed as a first class game.

Adam Chicksen is the only other uncapped player in the squad

Congrats to Adam Chicksen who became V831 tonight, the 831st first team Addick since 1921 when we joined the football league
  • Options
How many new signings today to bolster the V numbers?

George Lapsie on the bench tonight v Colchester is the only uncapped player in the squad.

Could be V834 if he gets on.

His brother Tom is captaining Colchester tonight. Have a feeling George could turn out to be a good player for us.
