    I assume that the criteria is that when players make their debut in the same game and at the same time, then it's done on shirt number?

    In order on the team sheet which is now, but wasn't always, the same thing.

    Hence John Hughes is V001 as he was keeper in the first league team but there were no shirt numbers, or I'd guess teamsheets, then.

    The one consistent thing in football I'm imagining is that if there was a teamsheet/lineup, the keeper would be first!
