  • Leeds thought they could roll us over...... but our passing and ability gave them something to think about....... well done Charlton.....

the hardest away game of the season! ....... at least on paper
  • Just watched the game on the net. I thought we were composed and professional.

To be honest Leeds looked nothing special considering they were at home.
  • Good stuff lads :)
  • Henry went to a Pub ?
    Beneath him shurely..........
  • [cite]Posted By: Mike[/cite]good result :) two games without a goal tho a bit of a worry

Oh Jesus, are you for real?

my thoughts exactely, dont see all the fuss with beckford, thought he was pretty piss poor to be fair, no betta than izale when he came on!
  • good result for us with rovers gwetting tonked as well.... I appreciate Norwich arent far behind but I think thats good to have their confidence knocked...

No colchester hangover and lera made the switch to sodje , unfortuantely for him, an easy decision.....

    we will win next week...

    Perhaps a wine bar...
  • Well played the lads - defence looked pretty solid, played some nice stuff in midfield, Racon caused them a lot of problems (worked well with him on left and Bailey in the holding position). Good for the confidence too. What a bonus to be able to watch it!
  • Just realised what I wrote. Apologies AFKA, it was you leading the pub contingent, not Mr Irving.

  • Good result, watched some of it on one of the streams, interesting Bailey and Racon played the other way around. Was it like that from the start?
  • I reckon we outplayed them tbh. put the ball on the ground and was willing to pass it around, leeds just humped it upfield. Solid performance and well done parky for bringing on McLoud to try an win it. Good mentality that. Especially away from home against the league leaders.

    agree....
  • a late one for you mascot!
  • We were the much better side, all Leeds had was a hoof and they couldnt string 2 passes together. They are obviously top of the league for one reason...pure luck due to the last minute winners they have had. Us on the other hand, professional, classy and unlucky not to nick a winner i thought!Onwards and upwards charlton.
Parky deserves all the credit he gets for being able to lift up his side after tuesday, prove it was just a blip and outplay the team supposedly top of the league!
This league is ours for the taking, i truely believe that!

  • According to CAFC Player we had 55% possession to their 45. Thought we were much the better side second half and as Christian said, well done Parky for going for the win at the end. We do need to start scoring more goals, so time try out 4-4-2 in the cup game.
  • Watched the game on a live stream picked up from a thread on here. Thought the team looked solid and coped well with Beckford etc. Racon looked a class above, Sodje was strong (apart from some kung-fu stuff at the end). Anyone know what's happened with Sam, he seemed ok during first half?
All in all a good result and I echo everyone else in saying well doen to Parky for picking up the team after Tuesday's debacle.
Hoping to get to the game next week - work allowing!!
  • easy to mix me and AFkA up given how respective heights : - ) actually at 15th Bromley Cubs 90th birthday party thats how glam my life is.

Sounds like we had the better of it. Also pleased to see the changes and subs didnt stop us and that Parkinsella were happy to switch players around when needed.

lets get back to winning ways v Oldham and Huddersfield.

On route to the Exeter game I predicted 4 points from the 3 games that followed......just thought that the Leeds & Colchester results would have been reversed. Not that I expected to be beaten heavily at Leeds.

Couple of tricky home games Oldham & Huddersfield now comimng up. Both very winnable, anyone know who Leeds have got in their next two? Am I right in thinking they have got the International week off due to call-ups?.

Yeah theyve got no games for 2 weeks now, so we could pull back into the lead a put some pressure on them, should beat oldham but huddersfield will be tough, even thou they aint playin that well at present
  • Oldham have been a bit of an enigma this season. Both on 16 points. Oldham have been better away from home I believe.

If we are on our game both are very winnable.
  • Stopped doing updates to watch the game on the net....what an absolute treat to do that! (thanks for the links). Picture quality was pretty good, and much easier to follow the game than the constantly interrupted wireless commentary. Thought we looked OK first half, but really good in the second....terrific enjoyment, leeds had a spate of free kicks near the end, but if anybody was going to snatch a goal I thought we would. Leeds didn't look that good to me....i was pleased with Sodje, and the players coming in give me more confidence that the squad is pretty good, and players are hungry to be picked and play well.
Especially good to have a positive reaction from the team, thats four home points dropped by Leeds this week, and one away point dropped by us....that has got to be good. We are three points ahead of target, now we must try to win against Oldham, and practice goalscoring in training.
  • Well done lads and thanks to all for the updates. An excellent point.
