Why would you ever miss a game at the Valley to watch a bunch of people who couldnt care less about the top they play in. They are over paid and underworked and i dislike almost every england player premiership posh boys and following England away is the most over rated ever. Sorry if this sounds like im having a go but i have been round the World watching England and at home too and its such a load of shite everyone sits all game so bouncing and chants cant have any swearing in them incase you get kicked out.
Away your treated like an animal when most fans are wanker Man UTD fans from Kent or at least the south who sit their prwan sandwich eating. At home there is no atmos the atmos went after old Wemberly was destroyed so in awnser to your question is no i will not be wasting my time effort and money on those bunch of bellends

England at home is shite agreed. But then the support you just described is not much different to Charlton's support England away, although not as good as it once was, pisses all over most domestic games as far as im concerned. Ecspecially somwhere like Ukraine, where none of the nob heads go. Where have you been with England out of interest?
Don't get me wrong if it had been Millwall we were playing that day it would have been a different decision but oldham at home (I know I will have a better time where im going) but each to their own.
P.S. Im a patrioic man. Im there supporting the shirt, not the players wearing it (not this current crop anyway). I would not piss on them if they were on fire!!
I presume you won't be jumping on the world cup bandwagon next summer.
[cite]Posted By: Ketman[/cite]Would love to do an England awayday, but would never at the expense of Charlton.
That is the attitude all of our fans should take i have bin away with England many times and wouldnt bother Amsterdam (not recently) was good cos of their relax laws and we had a real weekend of it there couple of people trashed the city but england took over the whole city and i luv Amsterdam (well Holland) soo if you ever get a chance to go there would recomend that but other wise dont bother mate big fat waste of time effort and money dont do it ever mate Charlton should always come first.
Oh I will be and I support England as much as the next man. My mentality is to put club before country though as that is where the majority of my emotion and money is invested in.

[cite]Posted By: The Organiser[/cite]If so, what are your travel plans? We fly to Kiev Fri lunchime, back monday night with an overnight sleeper train to Dnepro in between.
Be interested to know if any other Charlton are making the trip other than the lads I know.
Cheers.
Flying to Kiev on Friday with British Airways from Heathrow, getting a coach (arranged by Charlton fans forum member Gary Davenport) to Dnepro and back and flying back on Monday. I think we're only spending nights in Kiev, god knows what the arrangements are. Should be a goodun!
England games don't clash with the top 2 tiers, this is the first time that I'll be missing a home game at the expense of England and this trip was organised before the season started.
Just out of interest, will the people who are against this be at Leeds on Saturday?

Your reply pleases me actually. I am a patriotic man too however i am more patriotic about my area ie south London than the rest of England for example i would rather drink with a couple of Irish lads than i would with some stuck up Northern wankers from say Oldham for arguments sake and the north is not something i am prepared to be patriotic about i like London but most of the rest of the country is a bit shit and im not keen on supporting anything to do with manchester of Liverpool or anywere in da north. Spose you could say i am patriotic when it comes to my city.
I have been many places away with England Ukraine being one to give you an example of some of the big ones bin to France 1998 WC, Japan/S.Korea 2002WC and Germany for the 2006 WC. Bin to Euros before too. ZARGREB in croatia, Amsterdam as i said, Madrid, Andorra, Ukraine, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, USA and many more which i have got on my passport thigy you get for going away with them which i shall dig out and let you know if you are interested.
As you say each to their own mate and i am really enjoying this descussion. I am glad you feel the same way about the bunch of wankers we call players. But no mate my England days are well and truly behind me although i may try and get to the WC as South Affrica is a once in a life time chance to go to a very interesting country. But will prob go to a Brazil game if i can get England tix i will but wont go out me way.
What detinations you bin too out of interest mate?
[cite]Posted By: LargeAddick[/cite]Club before country for me all the way. Wouldn't bother me at all if they scrapped international football, waste of time.
Wouldnt bother me either large care v little about england as they just disapoint me not just talking bout results their i just dislike all the players not one player that plays for england do i have any respect for bar one (becks)

I agree mate - England away is top drawer. Done quite a few and never failed to have a full-on time.
I thought this was the first time England have played in Ukraine? Def in recent times. When did you go there? You had done a fair few, mainly tournaments, whoich I don't find to be as good as away games. Germany in WC06 was pretty crap i thought.
I do see where your coming from, but then you say you might go to SA in the summer (a trip which will cost more than any England away trip), money which could be better spent on Charlton, going by your initial comments?
How was Russia away? I missed that but was in Zagreb, done alot of the usual western Europe ones - Holland, France, Germany, Scotland, Denmark, Croatia, Wales. Due to my age I missed some good times through the 80's and early 90's but I can't help that.
Southen Irish or Northern? :) - To be honest I have met some cracking Northerners and am liflong friends with some from liverpool, Rochdale, Sunderland, Wigan, Bury, Oldham etc through England games Top lads. Tehy see themsleves as English first (not liverpudlian etc) and thats good enough for me!!
Friendly mate 2000 i think it was i can confirm when i have a look at me passport thingy. Yea thats right mate was mainly tournements but have done a bit of qualifiying away too.
Yea 2006 was rubbish. I say i might try SA just for the chance to go to SA as i have always wanted to go there and never had an excuse. Money wise your right again i think it would be better spent on CAFC.
Russia was just another case of being treated as animals we were locked in cages when we arrived in Moscow and held there for ages on police advice lol how funny. Wales is another one i have done never done Denmark would like too though. This covo with you organiser has now made me think twice about it and you may be turning me back into it as i luv travelling and going to new places lol you bastard making me spend the money lol gotta luv it though its the travelling aspect theat got me into England away in the first place.Yea i missed all the 80s too due to age but most of the 90s from about 94 i was going with me old man. Northern Irsih mate as they are part of the british isles but luv Irish people in general.
Yea its just the Northerners i have met with Charlton i have not got on with but yea i have some good Northern friends met through England as well so yea i do know were you are coming from whats the furtherest you have been? If you asked what my fav one was it would def either be Holland (as have been to a Feyanord Ajax derby great atmos and have lots of good dutch mates in Holland) or Trinindad and Tobago that was a wicked holiday.

I have been robbed of actual England World Cup & Euro Tourament tickets in the last couple of years (Thanks Dad). I have been promised them again for the next one but SAfrica is a hell of a long way for just a game & a couple of days :-(
