[cite]Posted By: cafcdan18[/cite]What a ridiculous thread, you can only beat what is in front of you, we are 2nd in league playing well with some players playing the best they ever have for the club. We have played Norwich and Saints who were both in championship last year and even though we drew, we could have won both. Brentford arrived at Valley unbeaten. the big challenge will come in next two or three but let's just enjoy the start and the fact slowly we are getting our charlton back and having a team to be proud of!
Some people will never be content, but no one could realistically have believed that our start would be so good after last years disaster!
Absolutely correct in every detail. Some people really are never happy. Roll with it chill out FFS.
[cite]Posted By: bingaddick[/cite]Do we really need to pursue these self flagellatory thoughts? We've had a brilliant start to the season only surpassed by Leeds even more brilliant one based around two last minute goals, one against us and one for them, othewise we would be ahead of them. For the record Brentford were in the top half when we beat them.
If you want self-flagellation, what about the fact that we have not yet beaten the bottom club yet?
Come on lets look at reasons to be miserable.
Loving your work Bing! Am gonna try and get that in to a letter today. Am on a roll - have already got "weapon" in to one this morning.
This top/half bottom half debate is ridiculous, given that 3 points separate 8th from 21st, so most of the teams we've played are only outside the top half on goal difference or a single point.
The saying goes - you can only beat the team in front of you, and we've managed that seven times this year, it would have been nine wins from nine games but for a bad linesman decision against Southampton and a very generous piece of refereeing in allowing a body slam on Elliot for Norwich's equaliser.
Nevertheless getting dumped out the Carling Cup means that the season to date has been a failure.
