ah yes read it now (soz) so 2 'cask ales' one bottled ale and 1 ick john smiths... still not too bad, do like a spot of Youngs myself tho but I guess that's out of the question. I kinda stopped going to pub before game thing for a number of reasons but its nice to know someone is trying to turn it around and is listening to the customers, top marks.
[cite]Posted By: Royal Oak Pub[/cite]I am very sorry that the service you recived was to this standard. All i can say is that we try to serve all our customers as quickly as we can and we hope you will give us another try on our next home game. Make yourself known and we will chuck in a free pint. Thanks for your feedback its still early days for us and we are trying to iron out all the things as we come across them . Thanks Danielle and Steve.
Right everyone, get yourself down there for the next game with an "I'm Len Glover" t-shirt on and that's the first pint sorted!
Was it the blonde girls first day she seemed a bit shell shocked. The short girl with growing out dyed blonde hair was an absolute gem behind that bar. Knew exactly who was next and seemed to be serving three different people at a time. What ever you are paying her, you should double it.

That's the one! Doing about four things at once, long time since I've seen anyone that efficient behind a bar.
Went their for the Brentford game and yesterday, spot on as usual. It looks like you've really done your pub homework and I hope it works out for you all in their.
Went in there Saturday for the first time and really enjoyed it. Atmosphere in the garden was good and the service at the bar was very good. One gripe though, i do hate drinking out of plastic cups
[cite]Posted By: Robbo on the wing[/cite]Certainly done the pub homework. Put all beer up 25p for matchdays...
To make up for the fact that its in a f***er of a location and gets very little walk-in trade at any time other than on a matchday I suspect - which probably contributed to the place going to the dogs and closing up in the first place.
Went in on Saturday around 1:45pm and had to wait only 5mins before getting a decent pint of pride, this is my second visit and have found the staff very friendly and the service given the numbers in the pub reasonably quick. also good that they have cleaned up the beer garden and the barbi is a good idea. I hope you can pull in the locals, as when I popped in after reserve games in the past it was always too quiet, and we Charlton fans need to have some pubs near the ground it is part of the football day out.
Bit fed up with waiting so long for pint at about 2.20 as I did the honourable thing when was asked for my order and pointed at the bloke next to me to say he was first then got missed for the next 10 minutes because others shouted louder, won't do that again. If I had one criticism it would be not enough staff round by the beer garden end as there were a lot of people coming in and having a long wait, might be worth considering a temp bar in the garden by the BBQ to take some orders if a couple of barrels could be set up there? But overall excellent service and a cracking pre match atmosphere. I would imagine with the weather turning the garden might be very quiet in future months anyway.

Hi guys, just been reading up on your comments and it seems that between about 1.45-2.45pm some of our customers had a wait of up to about 20 mins to be served. We had 7 bar staff working on Saturday but we may get an 8th on board for the next game to cover the garden side of the bar which was very busy. It is are aim to serve all customers within 10 mins and this may cut your waiting time down a bit. Would like to say a big thank-you to our staff on Saturday, you all worked so hard and for one it was her first time behind a bar (talk about chuck her in at the deep end) you were amazing well done. Now for all you plastic glass haters out there (us included) we have more of the hard Guinness glasses on order that will be here by next week, they are much more like drinking out of a real glass. Look out for our upcoming events, we will post details in the next few days. Danielle and Steve.
[cite]Posted By: Royal Oak Pub[/cite]Reply to Cafcdan 18. Our Add is 54 Charlton Lane, Charlton SE7 8LA. We are only about 8 min walk from the football ground.
8 minutes? If you're crawling on your knees maybe. I'd say more like two or three mins.

Two or three minutes from the East Stand bit but a bit more from the West for the less mobile I'd say and in the crowds after the match it probably would be 8 minutes.

I normally have to pay extra for that :-)
