[cite]Posted By: Hammer[/cite]Hey guys, Celtic fan here. Is this guy any good? I remember watching him a few times last season and I thought he looked a player.
You'll probably get split opinion on here. Basic skills are strong - good control, good athlete, pops up with a goal every now and then. I felt he flattered to deceive at times - didn't really impose himself on the game enough, and given our level, I felt he should/could have done this more. Given the right management - and Mowbray is a fan as he tried to sign him before for West Brom - he should do well for you.

Hard working player who will definitely get amongst the goals in the SPL. Will work very well with Brown IMO. He does have the odd really bad game, and can be a bit indisciplined. Can imagine with his status in China and the Celtic "brand" that he'll pay for himself. Sad that this pops into my mind so readily.
Celtic need someone to sell shirts in the Far East now Nakamura's gone. Which was the same reason we signed him to begin with. As Morts said he'll pay for himself, so it's a risk-free scenario.
I've got to say I liked him. Let's face it half the SPL are as bad as the teams we were playing last year and I thought he was good then so he'll be fine. Probably should have got more goals then he did, but I thought he was our best player the second half of the season we got relegated from the Prem, so all in all I'd say you've done well to get him. Bit of a dodgy injury record though and he does go missing alot playing for China all over the place
I liked him as a player, I thought when first came to us he looked terrified to go in for any 50/50 ball and lacked any balls holding of players, in short, he liked to play in lots of open space all by himself. However, I thought he was terrific at the end of last season, I compare those performances with his appearance as a ineffective substitute in Selhurst Park when he was clearly not fit.
I think he improved as a player at Charlton and perhaps he'll do the same in Scotland where he will learn, perhaps more than in many other leagues, he'll have to win the ball using more than just a few neat passes and natty off the ball moves. The other thing he has, not yet mentioned, is great goal scoring ability. I hope he does well.
A great signing - he did ok for us in the Championship and didn't disgrace himself when he played in the Premiership either so I think he'll do ok in the SPL.
[cite]Posted By: Friend Or Defoe[/cite]He's alright, isn't as keen on Dogs as Nakamura is, he's more in to DVDs.
You're a fking embarrassment to our club, son. Japanese people don't eat dogs it's Koreans. You can't even be racist without making yourself look a clown. Well down.
Try raw fish if you absolutely have to indulge in pathetic racial stereotyping.

I get the DVD reference, but dogs? Eh?
Its a crass attempt at humour, koreans all eat dogs and chinese all sell dodgy DVD's. But hey they alllookthe same.
It's more to do with football chants.
Oh. I lived in Japan for a bit, they don't eat dog. I ate some raw whale and horse meat while I was over there but I guess you can't really make a song out of that.
Who goes around removing posts and editing them here ?
Mortimerician wrote something I found offensive so I replied and now the censorship fairies have removed all trace and additionally someone has "cleaned up" M's original post.
On a thread devoted to Zeng Zhi signing for Glasgow Celtic? I suppose if you were being especially stupid for absolutely no reason what-so-ever then I'd have to say yes; just so that I could sit back and watch what happens next.
Otherwise.. no.
As for the Koreans eating dogs I have no idea, additionally, Korea has as little to do with China or Japan as it possibly can, so once again, I fail to see the relevance.
years back when i had a bar in Thailand we where playing an away darts game in a bar owned by a local face. It was always custom to put on some grub. usually a stew or a curry. They put on a top notch green curry. We all had a couple of bowels. I asked em what the meat was and they said rabbit. Now my family used to breed rabbits for the pot and it did have lots of small bones. For a few months i went to the local butchers--- no rabbit. I asked the Thai butcher for rabbit , he looked at me like i was a mad Farang(white man). So i asked the wife , she always looks at me like im a mad farang ! but says "we dont have rabbits in Thailand" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no idea what the meat was but the curry was still great.

I've also eaten horse in France, it tasted like a crap steak. I guess using Mortimerician's logic that makes me a French man. :-(
