[cite]Posted By: Solidgone[/cite]Deal has not been completed. There is more than one interested party involved which why this takeover appears to be dragging - one party involves a very wealthy person.
Well I imagine that this wealthy person whoever he may be would be our best bet. Whats the point in selling to a not wealthy person ? We cannot afford this dragging out much longer surely ?

Well Biggsy's out - takeover completed in 1963 used banknotes?
[cite]Posted By: BDL[/cite]Could tell you a tale about 1963 banknotes found in Kidbrooke.
Go on then...
Great Train Robbery....... shades of Ronnie Biggs et al ......?
Yep.
An old friend worked at Charlton Park Rugby Club, one of the locals who frequented the bar had a brother who was allegedly on of the great train robbers. His brother shared the house with his elderly mother.
When he died the wake was at the Rugby club, it was a who's who of the London Underworld apparently.
The Mum did about a year later and the other son who lived in the house as well was responsible for clearing it.
One day he turned up at the Rugby Club saying that he didn't know what to do with all this old money he'd found under his mum's bed - About £30k in 1960's banknotes. They told him to take the note to the Bank of England to change.

That's the Newcastle takeover, no idea about ours.
